Every picture tells a story – Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1.12.955.3

Some images hosted in Photobucket redirect there after "image inspect" completes its work. So you can see the image information just for a second, then Photobucket site loads.

@13-beta2: I have waited for this for three years. I like photography and I do it myself, so this is a really useful and wanted feature for me.
Things you don't like or need aren't necessarily bloatware.
You don't get to decide what the vast majority wants.I am very disappointed in you and your comment.

good one!
-
@ian-coog: Yup, would be great to have it! For the reference, this request is reported as VB-8268.
-
@gwen-dragon I think it's a welcomed addition and I can see it being useful, but I'd really appreciate a simplistic "Image Properties", with the more mundane image values, as well. Preferably it'd just open a small dialogue window rather than in a tab.
I'm not saying that what's been implemented is wrong in any way and I do appreciate it, it's just that it'd be nice to have a more simplistic image properties view in addition. Maybe just have a simplistic dialogue box with a button for more advanced options that can open in a tab.
-
@gort: I think what would work for you, a good compromise between the two is just to not open the image properties in the new tab, but in the same tab - they could slide in from the right, besides the page. What do you think? For me opening in a new tab is also unnecessary, but in the same tab it would be fine.
-
@wojcieche Hmm... interesting suggestion. I'd prefer a small window that pops up something simple with easy access to more advanced things, but your suggestion is a good working compromise.
-
@gwen-dragon Well, it was merely a reply to you, but you're right, so I have submitted my request on the thread you mentioned.

@ugly: Yes, I came here wanting to point out the same issue. Adding new bookmarks from my address bar right icon adds 2 entries.
Linux Mint 18.1 x64 -
Reported and already fixed (for next snapshot), see https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/20784/double-bookmarks
-
I don't know which update started it, but I noticed the "Save Delete Cancel" buttons when adding a bookmark were replaced with left-aligned "Save Delete" and a right-aligned "X" that now says cancel on hover. Why the change? I feel like it ruins some of the neatness of the add/edit-a-bookmark thing. At the very least it now feels like a bit of wasted space, and I shudder when words are replaced with symbols that then tell you the same word on hover.

@pdray said in Every picture tells a story – Vivaldi Browser Snapshot 1.12.955.3:
@pdray: Another site issue with the space key:
http://techreport.com/news/32539/iphone-8-and-iphone-8-plus-get-new-guts-and-cut-the-cord#Here the space key does nothing. In prior versions, it would do the same as page down.
The cursor keys and page up and page down continue to work okay here.Space bar seems to work fine for me on that site with the latest 32-bit snapshot on Windows 10 (64-bit).

Hey, can anyone help me with this issue I'm having?
I can't comment on the blog even when I'm logged in! I need to use the Forum page to comment here!It started a few weeks ago, when I tried logging in to comment on a snapshot release. I went through the sign in procedure just as I normally would, the site redirected me to the Forums page, as always, but when I tried going back to the Blog, the comment box would display a "Log in to join the conversation" message, and clicking anywhere inside the box would do anything! And the user icon was blank, meaning the site doesn't recognize me as logged in!
The buttons Register and Log In also appear under the comment box, and clicking on them takes me to the Forum page. For some reason I can't log in on the blog, but can log in on the forum. I can't comment, reply or upvote any comments on the blog. Using the forum was the only way i managed to comment.
Please, send help!

@kiriya-aoi I just noticed this and I don't like it either. The original way was better.

@yamiryuuzero It sounds as though you have 3rd party cookies blocked.

I would like to see when was the image modified.
It's not part of the exif info and it may not be close to the date of creation, but sometimes is the only way to know approximately how old is the image.
Right now I have to use Firefox to see that information, it was present in older builds of Opera, but it was removed. -
I'm not getting the image info no matter how many times I try with different images... here's what I get even after waiting for a long time:
The strange things is that it doesn't happen all the time... some images get a fast inspection but some don't give you anything even after you wait for more than 10 minutes...

This just came to mind: How about showing the current shortcut for every button and clickable element when mouse hovers over it?
I know I can press "Ctrl + F1" to check them out but I think it'd be really easy and user friendly for a new user to hover his mouse over the some clickable element and not only see a very short tip about what it does but to also see what shortcut activates it...

Is the lone check box in Settings/Updates really meant to be a resident-only feature now? If so, why did you drop the method where you're alerted only when the browser is active?
I only use the beta for testing on the side. It's not normally active. So imagine my surprise when a notification came up via the W10 notification system alerting me to 1.12.955.3--when I was using 1.11. It's true, I hadn't installed 1.12.955.3 yet in the separate beta installation, but more to the point, the beta browser wasn't running. My first thought was that 1.12 had just left beta and that 1.11 could be upgraded, even though I knew it was too early for that.
I've since unchecked the box in the beta. I've always had the box checked in 1.11 earlier and have never seen the resident Vivaldi updater task like I saw with 1.12 (I think there was an earlier attempt at something along these lines several months ago, but I thought it was dropped).

Bug: Download speed is updated in downloads panel after it is finished, until you press "Save" in "Save as.."-dialog.
