Feature requests for 1.12
-
@sunburst275 +1 That's exactly what I use in Firefox. Using "Save As", or whatever it's called is an extra mental step I have to do on every download I do. I don't want them all mashed together in one directory.
-
@pesala I like most of your ideas. However, not all of us come from Opera. I have no idea what this is a request for, so I can't upvote it.
-
@haaenn This request is an artifact of a broken request system. It has been requested many times before and is an "obvious" good idea.
-
@dr3ick Requested many times previously - even in this thread.
-
@pesala I think this would indirectly satisfy a bunch of requests on this thread!
-
@josephj11 i need to seem them instantly because i must use bookmarked websites as plants databases and plants id.

Proper autocomplete (wrong parts selected when moving around, segmentation for autocomplete on every "/" level) - VB-23058
-
Fix repetitive urls in history dropdown - VB-25017, VB-27673
-
Place focus in address bar, even for homepage as new tab (Extension for new tab redirect workaround does not work for focus) - VB-25016
-
Links don't always open in the proper window when there are multiple windows open (eg. if I have a video playing fullscreen on monitor/window 'A' why open a link in that if I got a different one 'B' open on a different display) - VB-27764
-
Remember download locations per domain (eg.: image.com -> D:\Images; documents.org -> C:\Users\user\Documents)
-
Edit browser chrome css without hacking (eg. I want to hide the back, forward etc... buttons as I only use mouse gestures - opera 12 allowed me to do this)
-
All Vivaldi windows maximize when a link opens (eg. if I have one window open and a 2nd minimized a link should usually open in the not minimized window) - VB-27831
-
@josephj11 exactly that
To me also often happens that i cannot find what i'm looking for, and it's frustrating and a waste of time. -
@jafa The option is already there. Untick "show tab bar".
-
@urfausto I'm not sure I understand. Do you need to "see" them because you need to extract that data from the webpage for the next step of your workflow?
If so, I can understand why a tooltip wouldn't be helpful.

Every time we open a web panel, it will force the open tab to resize! This is not good since it will change the dimension and in HTML5 dynamic pages things relocate and occasionally goes to tablet or mobile mode if the webpanel is wide (does not leave much room for the current open tab).
The solution is to have the webpanels as layer over the actual tab. if someone wants something to be open side by side, they already have the tab-tiling option. So at the moment it is redundant to have webpanel gets actual space in the browsing area. Perhaps it can be optional and user can toggle the behavior based on their preference.
imho webpanels are for things that you want to have there always by your side, like WhatsappWeb or other chat platforms, bookmark services like google bookmarks and etc. which you open them hundreds of times per day but every time for short period of time, so changing the dimension is quite too much.
This has been mentioned only once before, but among many others in a single post many months before and has 6 votes so far.

Colored tabs:
I use vertical tabs because it gives me the ability to scroll through them. But I have a bad habit of opening a lot of tabs (around 100 or so). It would be really cool if it were possible to select multiple tabs and give them a background color that makes them look different from the rest. This is different from grouping or tiles. Instead of requiring a different visual arrangement or concept, all it would take is a simple glance to notice "all the green tabs" or "all those orange tabs", and you'd know that they have something in common. Maybe when you rollover a tab with the cursor it could display the color's meaning inside the preview popup. -
@lake Sort of like how some operating systems let you "tag" folders with a certain colour or icon?

My suggestion of graphical feature for the browser! I believe that with some adjustments to make it accessible to all people, including those who are sensitive to some content, this suggestion is viable!
