Vivaldi 1.11 – Focus on accessibility

@g_bartsch "I am now most curious what is coming next."
heh heh heh - wouldn't you like to know...
-
@Ayespy Judging by this response it's gonna be good.
-
@lvsunz3748 How much do you lose? All? Half? Small bits of it? Sometimes I can't find a few things I thought I should be able to so wondered if they went missing but my history has reams of URLs in it.

...Vivaldi continues to lose History from one session to another...
I know some users who would love such a feature, but unfortunately we don't offer it. The only way to turn off history saving right now is to use a private window. Otherwise, it saves up to the length of time the users sets.
If you can tell us how you get history to disappear between sessions, we'd love to learn it.
-
@ayespy: Yeah, you could say that... But until this problem is resolved, I will use another browser to check my mails...
-
@tokrcz: I noticed this too. It was introduced a while ago in the snapshots. Before the RC. I made a post about it once in the 1.11.901.3 snapshot, so that must have been when it was introduced.
I notice both the font size in tabs, and the font size in the status bar were smaller. I didn't notice anywhere else.

@asianmusicguy: No need for it, the media developer has it well organised in the bug tracker all media bug, there are still around 100 open bugs so it may take a little longer, but it has already had some progress.
Also, another internal tester said that https://www.amazon.de/prime/ works.
-
@An_dz great thank you yes https://www.primevideo.com is for Canada based users and a few other amazon locations that cam not integrate for whatever reason into the main website properly so that might be a clue treat https://www.primevideo.com as a entirely separate website also another clue may be that i sometimes on occasion when trying can see a amazon originals video ad in the player but it never loads my main content i selected please reply with your thoughts maybe you need a Canada based tester specific for this issue? if you dont already have one?

@Ayespy Again with the teasing! Gosh power goes to some people's heads
-
@Steffie You know my lips are sealed. I'm bound to secrecy. Besides, I haven't actually seen the product so...
-
@Ayespy One for the old-time Monty Python fans...
We could kidnap you, then subject you to merciless torture via our flying Spanish Inquisition squad, replete with Soft Cushions, & as a last resort, The Comfy Chair.
No human can resist such diabolical techniques... those lips would be unsealed in a jiffy.

News Flash -- we heard it here first folks. A new coming feature... Invisible Vivaldi, for the truly privacy-conscious user!
-
@Steffie You've some nerve referencing my lips.
-
Congrats and thank you for the constant improvement.

Great update! The Reader mode configuration is incredibly handy.
I've run into an issue the first few minutes I've used it: typing into Quick Commands has become noticeably sluggish; the text doesn't update as fast. If I turn off History Entries from appearing in Quick Commands, it's quick again. I'm sure History Entries was turned on before the update, because I use the feature extensively.
Has anyone else run into this? I'll do a little bit more digging to rule out if it's my config, then probably open an issue if it persists.
-
@asianmusicguy I don't think so, the dev seems to have already found the culprit, but the fix looks a little hard.

Mouse gestures are some of the worst things I've ever experienced
Pity. I love them, & use them hundreds of times a day, every day.

You are adding all these great features, which is fantastic, however, my Downloads folder is STILL full of files that I have open whilst browsing and should be in the TEMP directory.
e.g. office files, pdfs (when I'm not using the built in viewer), Citrix launch files, java web start (jnlp) files etc etcThe Downloads directory should just be for files that I specifically download and want to save (e.g. program installers) not for any non-html files that are opened during my browsing session.
This is a weird behaviour that Chrome brought in for whatever reason and you have inherited it.
Opera Presto did it right, surely you can do it right quicker than implementing a mail client! -
Congrats on the latest version!
(Can you add a "deactivate animations"? I know load animations is still there but it doesn't stop the animation from going when the page is already loaded.)

I use this extension to make sure that I make breaks when I'm using my computer: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/break-timer/hklkdbpicdmlpoiellngedpejjkmapei?utm_source=chrome-app-launcher-info-dialog.
It's called "Break Time". Unfortunately, it broke with this update. The fullscreen break notification/timer no longer works properly. Anyone who can help with this?
