Vivaldi Forum mod
-
@luetage Finally got around to using this extension. Thanks for your work (and everyone else that contributed)!
I have just made a pull request to potentially improve the
Advanced Formatting Mod
. It isn't finished yet, but I was wondering if you [Edit: and @LonM] could check it out to see if you agree with the changes. -
@ch3f The basic color variables changed. There is no more Link 2, since Vivaldi dropped it. The former Button color is called Code now and strictly a foreground color; and the Accent color is newly introduced. I said before I was sorry that I had to completely break compatibility with old versions, but I think it was for the better. If you neither made backups of your themes with the export feature, nor have a backup of the 2.4 version somewhere (Timemachine?), I’m afraid the themes are gone.
-
-
@luetage I have time machine and I can restore 2.4 but..ohh so I realistically I have to start from scratch...crap thats a lot of work..wouldnt have upgraded had this would happen.
-
@guigirl If you didn’t levitate an apple and recite Vivaldi’s privacy policy backwards while doing so, that don’t impress me much.
-
@ch3f 2.4 only had 4 themes max. You can restore 2.4, export your 4 themes to Notes and then try to use the old color variables in the new theme. Shouldn’t be that much work.
-
@luetage unfortunately I found a link to a bunch of themes, some of which I imported then customised.
I restored 2.4 but 3.0 remains.
-
-
@ch3f Disable 3.0 in
vivaldi://extensions/
, reload Vivaldi Forum, open settings with the options link and the old settings will load, where you can access all 4 of your initial custom themes for export. The export will copy your theme codes to the clipboard. -
@luetage got it working, BUT..my customs themes are knowhere to be found...
-
@ch3f No idea then. I guess the problem is that themes are saved to sync storage, not local storage. You would probably have to access a version of Vivaldi that still has VFM 2.4 and then restore the whole application. But even this isn’t guaranteed to work. Probably not worth the effort.
What were the names of the themes? If it’s been one of my themes I still have the old theme codes saved. That’s without your changes of course, but you would have a starting point at least. Themes previously shared in this topic are all still here too with visible hex codes.

@luetage Solarized Dark was one dont recall the others haven't had a need to touch them in long time. Set and forget.
maybe do a cut&paste dump of them all into here.

@nomadic I could check this. Do you have a link to the request?

@lonm Draft pull requests cannot be merged.
I have gotten all of that working with the mentioned buttons other than the Numbered List button. That one will require a less generalized function that will increment with each additional selected line. I will leave this pull request as draft until I, or someone else, finishes that aspect.

@luetage
I made a Japanese-Language-Pack of messages.json , because I didn't know how to use the English UI.
Can I post here for Japanese-Vivaldian? -
@shifte You can either create a pull request on github, or post here or send a link to a pastebin per message. Whatever you prefer. After that it will be merged and be available to all Japanese users in the next update.
