-
.

@pettern You didn't say it's impossible.
I'm patient...
-
@pafflick Of course it's possible, but it'll be definitely confusing to have private tabs.

Intergrated Messenger sidebar
Just like Opera
There is no necessity! I think many users would hate this because many do not use it for example and do not want these sites by default.
At Vivaldi you can by any site! Much better!
Note: Access the Messenger site and add it to the panel. -
Be able to drag files from the downloads bar
Enable downloaded files to be selected and dragged on to normal application file targets or onto a browser tab that's set up to accept files being dropped onto it.
-
@pafflick The Classic Opera browser used to allow users to select the bookmarks they want to backup and save it into a portable file that they can rename. It would not work on notes, though.
-
Adding a button in the downloads tab that leads directly to the folder
It could be nice to add a button in the download list for each downloaded files that could lead us directly to the folder where the files are.
Instead of doing right click -> go to the folder -
This feature is implemented, courtesy of a Chrome update.
-
@iAN-CooG This is related to another request on this thread to have Vivaldi remember the last download location and default to that.
-
Tab Customization - Currently, an user could only change the roundness of the tabs.
What I propose is the option to change the angle of the tab
-
Home Page Customization - Right now, there are only few customization available for the home page.
What I propose is making it OPTIONAL for users:
-Weather
-News
-Time
-Speed Dial
-Social MediaAny of them can be enabled/disabled via settings.
-
Privacy Customizations-There's really not a lot of customizations for privacy to be honest.
What I propose are builtin options that can be enabled/disabled:
-Block Ads/Tracking
-HTTPS Everywhere
-Block Phishing and Malware (Not Google's because Google's own version sends data to the mothership)
-Block Scripts
-Fingerprinting ProtectionAgain, this can be enabled / disabled via settings
-
Bookmark search behavior - collapsed/expanded state should be remembered:
Let's say you have one or more expanded bookmark sub tree(s) and search for something. Now it correctly finds it, so far so good. But when you clear the search field, all bookmark folders are collapsed.
But what ideally should happend is that the original open/closed folder structure should be there plus, like in Opera 12, if you selected one of the findings (bookmark or folder) the sub-tree to this entry should be open additionally and the selected entry should still be selected!
The benefit of this is f.e. that you can search for a folder name, select it, clear the search and so "found" all the bookmarks in it. An IRL example (of many): You would order Pizza -> search for your bookmark folder "Pizza delivery" -> found all restaurants (even that one without "pizza" in there names or links).

It actually updates a blacklist at Vivaldi's startup and checks sites against that static list, AFAIK. You can already disable reporting the errors to Google through Vivaldi's UI.
-Block Scripts
Though not directly accessible through Vivaldi's UI, you can access content settings via vivaldi://chrome/settings and disable JS globally, then enable it on a per-site basis using the site badge.
For more fine-grained control (i.e. allow JS per request domain, not only main URL), the uMatrix extension comes to mind. (I would myself like a uMatrix-like generic blocker built-in, but I doubt it'll come)
-
@IcePanther I mean i dont really want to install extensions. I prefer things like built in some of the other browsers lol
-
Hardware acceleration messes with the menus on my laptop, making them unreadable and unusable. It would help if there was a way to turn it on/off with a shortcut. Otherwise, the browser is unusable to me on some systems (Manjaro for sure).

Delele multiple tab stacking groups
When I click on some tab stacking groups (plus some single tabs) and I click to close them is deleted all selected tabs but from groups is deleted just the last one of the group was seleted not the all tabs of the group. I would like this were fixed
-
@pycur The fact that it is standalone does not make it portable unfortunately... copying Vivaldi standalone to another system removes all extensions and passwords (due to how Chromium works).
