Feature requests for 1.8 / 1.9

It would be perfect if you implement in Screenshot feature additional graphics tools. For example something like paint app. If you select area, than you can make arrows, circles, squares, custom text, bubbles, highlighter, color picker........etc.
-
Please add the option for opening Screenshots from notes in New Tab.
-
Add the option to choose your own background images in the Scheduled themes.
For example: If I have selected a color combination of red and blue, so I want image on background with a red boat at blue sea. And in another change theme with color combination of orange and dark blue, I want a background of a sunset on the savanna.
I hope you understand what I mean by that. Color themes match with the color of the background image. -
Add Sesion manager to the panel.
-
Ability to drag & drop bookmarks and folders into other folders on the Speed Dial page.
-
Allow resizing Speed Dial items and thus allow more than 6 columns of them
-
If save Tab Stack which is renamed for example Test name 1, and save it to bookmarks, it creates only a folder called Stack. Then again I must rename this folder in the bookmark manager. Please add a feature to automatically save renamed title tab stack.
-
Ability to use the "back button" on vivaldi://startpage (after entering a folder).*
We should be able to quickly move between folders on our Speed Dial pages. Currently the only way to go to the previous folder (after entering one), is to click on a tiny button placed above the Speed Dial items. It's inconvenient.
* By the "back button" I mean the following:
- Go to previous page button
[<]
on the navigation panel; - Keyboard shortcuts (
[β Backspace]
,[CTRL]
+[β]
or custom ones); - The built-in "Back" button that some mouses have;
- Mouse gesture "History back";
- Rocker gestures.
- Go to previous page button
-
Open Bookmarks / Notes folders with single click
That is especially required when the "Open Bookmark Panel Items with Single Click" option in vivaldi://settings/bookmarks/ is checked. Right now the only way to open bookmarks/notes folder with a single click is to aim the small triangle-shaped "expand" icon.
-
Switch the cursor to
pointer
when hovering over BookmarksBut only when the "Open Bookmark Panel Items with Single Click" option in vivaldi://settings/bookmarks/ is checked. It'll be more intuitive...
-
Add the possibility to catch and move the extension icons.
-
Pop-up windows for YouTube video.
-
Bookmarks / Notes Separators
Ability to separate bookmarks & notes with a single, horizontal line, just like in Opera 12.
-
When is in Status Bar option set: Show Status Info Overlay, than if you zoom the page with Ctrl + mouse wheel or Ctrl + +/-, please add a popup overlay info with the current value of the zoom setting.
-
Make the User Interface Zoom affect context menus
It would be handy for touch screen devices. At least increase the spacing between context menu items (as an option), just like it happens with the File Explorer context menu on Windows 10, after switching to the Tablet Mode.
-
Make the "Close Tab" button always visible (as an option)
On a touch screen, the
:hover
events don't work (for obvious reasons), so closing a tab using an invisible button is quite difficult sometimes... -
In Tile pages concurrently scrolling of all pages in the keeping of certain keyboards etc.
-
Ability to select "clickable" text
This is mostly an issue with links, but when the whole div is set to launch some JS with the onClick event, selecting the text it contains is impossible.
-
Better Download manager (something like Bookmarks manager) inside Speed dial's top bar.
-
Add "Open Link" option to the context menu.
The best option is to have editable menus, as proposed earlier in this thread by @Pesala, but until then, I think adding this command might not be so difficult.
The purpose of this would be to override the
target="_blank"
attribute in links, so that it would open every link using the current tab (regardless of thetarget
attribute). It is already available on the Speed Dial page. You can also see how it works in Opera 12:
