Details matter. Vivaldi 1.6 is ready

Ok, this is disappointing…I was hoping that the backspace key issue (VB-23630) would be fixed but apparently you guys have not really fix it yet. It still happens on http://play.spotify.com searchbox.
Please do a delta update for this issue. It's really annoying.

I really like that you are implementing notification badges.
But it would be cool if these badges could also be shown in web panels & in the programm icon in windows taskbar.
With that I would be really happy & maybe I could stop using Franz for grouping all my messengers then and have them all in Vivaldi instead -
From what I've gathered so far, having these badges in the web-panels wouldn't work like it would in our tabs. And the reason for this is that our web-panel requests the mobile version of the page to better fit the panel. And web-pages (at least the most populare ones we've tested so far) doesn't actually have any title notification that we can pick up in the mobile view. Hopefully this gives some insight into why we don't have it. This might change in the future ofc, but I can't make any promises.

Hey, Kanay, thanks for the feedback!
Hue lights was made by our Designer Henrik (The person hired to make cosmetic stuff) I recommend reading https://vivaldi.net/de/teamblog/182-how-vivaldi-got-its-lights to better understand why and how vivaldi got its lights -
Interesting. I have never observed this myself. By missing do you mean the tab is simply gone or that it is no longer pinned? How many windows do you have open?
-
There is no advantage in 64-bit version for a browser. The 32-bit version is thoroughly tested, while the 64-bit is still a bit experimental.
-
Private tab same window? Please?
-
what about sync feature?
i am waiting for that one, for sure. (:
love your work guys. keep it up. ((:
-
Guys, the tab notifications are awesome! I love that I can see how many unread messages I have in my inbox, even when the tab is pinned!
-
It seems to me though that nowadays, 64bits is kind of the norm. Why not make the 64bits the default version, and let 32bits be "a bit experimental" ?
-
What about this oft-quoted blog from Google in 2004? Since Vivaldi is built on the same foundation, shouldn't any of this apply?

Anyone know a way to get the dedicated search field back to using the available space in the results field rather than truncating some phrases returned in the results with ellipsis? This wasn't a problem in 1.5.
-
This is the biggest thing lacking for me at the moment. Otherwise it's a great browser! Thanks Vivaldi team!
-
Not a Vivaldi problem if you have placed your profile in a part that gets deleted by the new OS install.
If you use a true stand alone (not single user) all files, both program and profile, should be contained in one folder. That folder can be anywhere, it does not need to be on the system drive.
If the windows install deletes stuff in other places than it is allowed to, there might be a different problem with the computer which is probably not a Vivaldi problem. Other than that: You can copy the whole user data folder to an USB stick, install everything new and copy the folder back and everything apart from stored passwords (those are stored in the windows password store which gets deleted during the reinstall) should be back and running again.
Did that more than once and it always worked without problems.

Very interesting. Nice Update keep it up the good work. Vivaldi team rocks

I've been having this problem with Vivaldi where the Memory Usage for Youtube videos will randomly keep rising at a steady pace, sometimes surpassing 1GB of RAM usage! This has been happening since about 3 or 4 builds ago. Anyone else having this problem?
Vivaldi 64-bits. Windows 7x64. Youtube Magic Actions extension enabled.
-
Looks fine here, no significant rise, w7x64 but without YT extensions. Does that happen if the extension is disabled too?
-
Curious as to the version number of this release, if anyone can tell me that'd be awesome. Guessing this exactly matches what I have if I'm following the Snapshot channel?
-
Me too…you'll be told "when it's ready."
-
It's a rebuild (.34) from the snapshot (.32) with few if any changes.
