Thumbnails and HiDPI improvements - Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1.6.689.13
-
Do you use any 3p security software? AV? HIPS? Execution Prevention? Have you used a CCleaner? Tab stack renaming appears to be working for anyone who wants it - except you. What could be different about your system? Do you have it in a folder that wants elevated privileges? On an encrypted drive? Have you changed any file or folder in the Vivaldi directory to "read only?"

[Thumbnails] Pages loaded in background tab do not update thumbnail (VB-2991)
Still not working for me.
Also, on first start, the thumbnail of the loaded page (new tab page/speed dial) is blank as well, that's a regression in the latest stable too.
Windows 8.1 x64
Vivaldi x86 -
Régression…Sur Mac Vivaldi snapshot ne retient plus les mots de passe
Reversing ... On Mac Vivaldi snapshot no longer retains passwords:( -
It does if you run a clean profile.

Vivaldi has always had that irritating trick of adding a number to the filename and automatically saving a file with duplicate name in the same folder. It would be nice if it would ask you (replace? keep both? save as?) AFAIR - As Far As I Recall (or Remember). IIRC - If I Remember Correctly. AFAIK - As Far As I Know. IMHO - In My Humble Opinion. YMMV - Your Mileage May Vary. TLDR - Too Long - Didn't Read…...

Maybe he's contemplating his revenge.

[Bookmarks] Show site name or URL in tooltip when hover an icon in bookmarks bar (VB-22887)
Maybe a small thing, but a big thank you for this!!
-
I asked for something similar loooong ago … It's a function in Opera 12.x:
"Automatic Page Reload"
You can specify the desired interval. I find it really useful. -
I never said dynamic content was the problem; it was just easier to use for demonstration, because the thumbnail-problem behaviour is more consistent. As mentioned before, the problem can appear on any page (dynamic or not) depending on loading speed/computer performance.

I added a search engine for Acronyms.
Acronyms are COIK = Clear only if known.
SS = Stainless Steel.

WASI= What A Stupid Idea ( Acronyms)
Thanks I appreciate the help but most of my friends can type and can still speak and type English. I would never use these daily enough that I would remember …reminds me of think-speak and we are sure there! I doubt that is on Google or people read anymore so that will be flamed.
Is it really that hard to type what a thought means??

works for me but i'm on win7, check if you have installed all the needed codecs (media player, optional on win10).
-
what codecs you just install it? tell me more bro…
-
The fact is, people do use acronyms, as you did. It's a fact of life that we have to deal with. A search engine just for that saves a lot of time.

Ran into bug (again) where vivaldi claims to have no internet connection. Filed Bug report already
Can anybody confirm this behaviour:- (Re-)start vivaldi (two open tabs in one window)
- open www.heise.de (or any other site)
- open private window
- try to open www.heise.de (or any other site)
=> Vivaldi tells me that there is no internet connection
Restart Vivaldi: Everything works again
W7, 64 Bit, vivaldi 64 Bit
Edit:
Attention, Problem does not occur, if you have only one tab in vivaldi, you need to have two tabs open!Wolfgang

Every field of endeavor has its shorthand. Including "the web." Now - just because one is on line doesn't mean one is "involved" in the web. Hence, I tend to use acronyms only when communicating with techies or the web-saturated younger generation. In normal "conversation" on line I use whole words for the benefit of old farts like myself. But I forgive techies for lapsing into shorthand. Sometimes it's hard to remember that not everyone is familiar with your terminology. I am a member of two very large real-life communities which have their own insider terminology, and I catch members of both using jargon with lay people all the time. I don't do it - but huge numbers of people do (I attended an ECC and later in the day filed a MTS and MIL. Dealt with an idiot from out of state trying to file a motion not even pro hoc vice). It's human nature. That said, you know exactly what I mean when I say FUBAR. An acronym of our generation.

Thanks for not flaming me Had to look up FUBAR also
I understand, also I hear they are quitting teaching cursive writing in school. Won't it be GREAT when the next WW breaks out or solar flare and all are like monkeys with sticks cause they know NOTHING if it doesn't have to do with electronics. Both may be closer than we realize. Ask people in Aleppo how well their devices work or do they even care?!

Win 7 64, 32 Viv
I think I am having memory problems with Viv I am NOT having with FF. Go to http://www.coasttocoastam.com/show/2016/12/08 mp3 files to download are not even showing on Viv where they are on FF.
I have a Corsair K95 Keyboard and I'll be using a Email form and accidentally hit a key it will erase form and put in some text clip I never had in memory.
