If you open a speed dial page, zoom in, and then refresh the thumbnail you can often greatly improve the speed dial preview images.
See item number 8 in the Feature Requests thread.

Good tip, tried it already. But it is hardly a solution. If you have tried the way Opera has implemented it you won't want something else. If they just copy it from Opera I would be Happy.

Damn… this build is very very unstable... I'm having crashings continuously, apparently with no reasonable cause... Viv crashed when I clicked a link on a message on GMail; when I opened Twitter (twice); when I opened Facebook; when watching videos on YouTube... out of nothing.
Searching for something abnormal in Process Explorer, I only got a process called 'certutil.exe' suspended and I couldn't resume it. It seems that I'm going to have to restart the machine again to have some tranquility...
Ah, another thing: Viv's internal task manager window sometimes open at the same place of browser and sometimes don't in taskbar. Is it normal or a known issue?
Win10 x64, Viv x64.

All I see in Opera 39 is text labels on the speed dials.
If you want to customise Vivaldi thumbs, see this forum thread
Workarounds are the only option at the moment. I prefer to wait, rather than wasting time editing CSS files etc.

It just crashed again… Now when I clicked on a link to view a image in Google Images...
I tried to restart it and this time only two processes listed in Process Explorer (stuck somehow) but nothing of browser itself open... Time to restart Windows... :x

Bug: When copying a URL from the address bar, it sometimes copies the "http://" part, and sometimes does not.
