Snapshot 1.5.604.4 - Fix for HTML5 audio and video on Windows
-
Ruari, any plans on adding touch screen actions?
-
Hello.
Like the previous 2 Snapshot builds, there is no highlight color when hovering over context menus, whether from a right-click on a page or from hitting the menu button. It makes navigating a bit more difficult as I don't know which choice is selected and have to rely on where exactly my mouse is pointing.
button in the north-east corner of a maximized window. It's like a little spacing issue. I'm used to moving my cursor in the very north-east corner of the monitor and easily closing Vivaldi. Now I have to move a pixel or two to the left. It highlights the close button when I'm at the north edge, but it stops highlighting the close button when I'm at the east edge.Thank you for you hard work.
Would love in the future:
-Disable auto-check update
-button on Speed Dials
-Private TabsI love you.

Hello, Lucio Vivaldi, nice name, I've confirmed you'r highlight issue, it is under investigation, thanks!

Thank you!

Regression: The numpad is broken again! With numlock disabled, I can't use Home / End / Page Up / Page Down for navigating the web page view or the caret in a text box. Vivaldi simulationsly interprets it as zoom commands or single-key tab switch commands, and fires both actions. System: Win 10 with a standard German keyboard layout. This had been fixed in the last stable release.

I've described a hack in my Vivaldi blog:
https://vivaldi.net/en-US/userblogs/entry/always-ask-for-the-download-location-hack
that forces Vivaldi to always ask for the location - but be aware that it breaks the "save" button of the download dialog. -
Because if GPU acceleration is enabled G-Sync get activated, when Vivaldi is in fullscreen mode and the refresh rate of the monitor is set to 20-30 Hz. Vivaldi is unusable this way. Disabling GPU acceleration prevents Vivaldi from doing this.
Other browsers don't show this behavior btw. Opera also enables G-Sync but uses 144 Hz refresh rate and browsers like Edge don't enable G-Sync at all because they are excluded from it in the nvidia driver, i guess.

Maybe you can ask nVidia to excluded Vivaldi from entering G-Sync mode as well. That would solve my problem as well. I'm already partially switching back to Opera because of this problem and the recent HTML5 video problems. -
Hi, Fayne_Aldan, I've confirmed the issue, we have a potential fix for that under way, look for VB-21379 in the future
Thanks!

wfm with w10 DEU keyboard layout

Strange! I have the same problem on another PC with Windows 7, also German Keyboard layout. Steps to reproduce:
- Activate Single-Key shortcuts in the Vivaldi Settings
- Disable numlock
- Open a website
- Click the browser's address bar (or alternatively any text field on the website) to put the cursor in it
- Press the numpad's 7 key
The cursor shoud jump to the left side of the address bar, instead it stays where it is and the page zoom level is changed to 50 %.
It's pretty much the same with the other keys like Page Up and Page Down, except you don't need a text field then. I also just tried the US keyboard layout, and get the same behavior.

Not RuarÃ, but I hope my answer is fine, too.
Yes, touch screen gestures are on our (long) list of possible features, but there's no concrete timeline yet. -
Thanks for the report, we are investigating the issue

Thank you

In the latest version I encounter a regression when clicking a link that opens in a new tab. The newly opened tab then uses the value I've set as UI-zoom for the page zoom. In other words: I've configured Vivaldi to display it's UI at 80%. Loading a page from SpeedDial/Bookmarks/URL-input works just fine and the page content is displayed at 100%, but if I click on a link that opens a new tab, the new page is zoomed to 80%.
This problem is new with Vivaldi 1.5.604.4. I'm running Win10/64 with Vivaldi 32bit.

When I zoom a tab, I don't want existing tabs belonging to the same site to be zoomed too – so I have "Use Tab Zoom" enabled. What I miss is the old Opera way of opening child pages (e.g. gesture-down on a link) at the same zoom level as their parent. Is there a way to do that?

Curious. I have highlights (grey) behind the mouse point in context menus. W10 64bit, V 32bit

Does anyone else have problems with "save" or "save as" mail attechments from Icloud?
This issue appeared for me after I updated to the newest snapshot. As far as I can tell every other Website where I can download stuff so I have to use "save" or "save as" workes fine so far.
Only in Icloud it behaves like the following
-> left click on mail attechment (tested with xml, xls, mp3, docx data formats)
-> the little window pops up and asks what I like to do save/save as/open/cancel (open and cancel work fine) (auto-download is no option for me)
-> pressing save -> nothing happens (and nothing is stored in the download folder)
-> pressing save as -> the download progress bar slides in (the one you can toggle with "F4") but no download starts(open the data and than save them somewhere works fine but depending on data size it is a little complicated)
System Win 8.1 64bit, Viv 1.5.604.4 32bit

How to use the full possibilities of a Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 laptop/tablet with Vivaldi then?
-
Somehow the original bug report got closed by accident. I've had QA reopen it. Thanks for including Opera's workaround. I can't make any promises when it will be fixed (or how), but it's back on the agenda.

I made this suggestion in the 1.4 suggestions thread, hope they saw it since it was just before they close it up, essentially the same idea, i just requested it to be an option as "Inherit zoom from parent".
