Ready to make your own mouse gestures? Now you can with Vivaldi 1.2
-
Mouse gestures have been one of our most popular features since we launched the very first TP of Vivaldi last year. So how can we make them even better? By letting you make your own.

Changelog link is broken.

FYI, the release notes page is dead. Yes, I know it's early, butβ¦
It sure would make a lot of sense if there was a non-changing URL to a changelogs page which had a simple reverse-chronological listing of all releases. Unique URLs for each release are far from ideal.
Such a thing has been known to work:

Thanks for letting us know about it, it's being loaded. Thanks for your patience
-
Thanks for the great tip, we'll definitely look into it
Changelog is on its way, thanks for being patient with us! -
Excellent job! Thanks for another great update! Vivaldi is getting better and better!

Is this the stable version of Vivaldi 1.2 or another Snapshot ?

Stable version of Vivaldi

This bug is driving me crazy: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=616308 vivaldi-snapshot has the issue, but I hadn't found the upstream bug report until now. I'm holding off on upgrading my stable Vivaldi to 1.2 until this is fixed; it is infuriating to have facebook scroll randomly when I'm trying to scroll downβ¦

Customizable mouse gestures are great, it's just too bad that you didn't add the most basic commmands like e.g. 'Go to top', which I'm really missing⦠Also, Import (i.e. passwords) from Opera 12.x still doesn't work here. Otherwise, congrats to 1.2

Thank you for another great release!
My humble wishlist (in descending order of importance):
1. An option to make the side panel overlap pages instead of shifting them.
2. An option to open browsing history in the side panel (it's technically possible by adding History page* as a web panel, but a native history panel would do much better).
3. An option to choose any search engine that has been added to the browser when you right click over the selected text (aka "search with").
4. An option to assign Page Theme Colors manually (most of the time Vivaldi picks colors perfectly, but sometimes it would be nice to be able to change them).
5. An option to select any color for the whole User Interface.
Sorry for my English and thank you in advance!
- I suppose that History Page itself should be redesigned, because it looks bad and doesn't fit into the rest of Vivaldi's interface.

Very well said!

One of your items will get served in the next snapshot! spoiler

congrats.
I think you could add this video to Mouse Gestures section of Vivaldi Help. Also in the future make more video tutorials for newbies. -
I'm betting on 3.

Disabling DirectWrite breaks UI fonts in this release: http://i.imgur.com/P1IZDlQ.png
I disable DirectWrite in vivaldi://flags to remove font blurriness (example: http://i.imgur.com/YThnukm.png). -
Thanks for the great tip. We'll do it asap!

Congratulations for the amazing progress. I LOVE Vivaldi (both the browser and the composer ).
Some bugs/performance tips:
1. BUG - clicking on the "lock" icon in the url bar expands the site info bubble downwards, outside of the window, when the url and tabs bars are configured to be at the bottom of the gui (linux)
2. BUG - open two vivaldi windows, open some tabs in each. CTRL-SELECT all the tabs in one window, right click one of them, click "move x tabs to windowβ¦" and move them. The first one will be fine but the other ones will be blank. Switching them won't help, you need to reload them (linux)
3. PERFORMANCE TIP - the quick command feature feels very sluggish and slow when typing. My suggestion is not to start immediately searching for results as soon as the user types. Wait for a fraction of a second instead. That will lower the load and give a much smoother user experience. (linux)
4. FEATURE REQUEST - enable SPNEGO/SSO: we use kerberos as our sso system and I can't seem to make it work with our corporate websites. Firefox works fine. Any startup parameter/config parameter to make this work? (linux)Thanks again for the amazing job you are doing. It has been my prod browser on Mac and Linux for a year.
