Snapshot 1.2.490.32 - Vivaldi 1.2RC1
-
Good work! Nice browser! Thanks!
-
To really test this bug, and if you are willing to, you should try with Chromium and Opera to see if the bug appears on their softwares too. If that's the case, it's more probably an issue in the driver and/or an issue in Chromium. In both case, Vivaldi can't do much
-
A couple of months? Is that all? I have a regression I reported 15 months ago, still not addressed. Development bug fixing moves on a geologic time scale. This is universal. If you report a bug this week and it is fixed the next, they were already working on it six months before your report. Still, always report bugs. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
-
Intra-folder options (and contest menu) on the bookmark bar are not written yet. These are not bugs, but rather feature requests, because they apply to features that don't yet exist and have never existed to date.
-
No.

A few months ago, the download size of Vivaldi was about 38-38.2MB. Recently, the download size has increased to 38.4MB in recent snapshots. This snapshot was 38.5MB. What is happening? Is this the Chromium updates?
-
I don't understand how 1 and 2 work for you on the bookmark bar. These functions don't exist.
-
thanks for the update, I love Vivaldi and I hope this could use a bit less pagefile in upcoming updates
-
Well, this snapshot wasn't added features, it was regression fixes. I think I noticed each size bump with every Chromium update.
-
Regression: Since 1.1 opening a new tab when "next to active" set opens it next to active. However, in the last recent snapshots, this still happens, but the new tab flickers at the end of the tab bar, and THEN goes next to the active tab.
This used to be a problem pre-1.1, didn't become a problem for a while, and has come back. It gives a feeling of instability, and isn't super professional.
I'm loving this snapshot's fixes, I just wish this one was part of them before the 1.2 Stable release.
-
That download bug is really the only thing preventing me from making the full switch and using Vivaldi as my main browser. I am itching to ditch Firefox but as a frequent TiddlyWiki user I can't use it comfortably with downloads silently going to the default folder.
I would eventually like to see a feature that allowed defining per domain and per file type download location.

Thank you for letting know on this! But why are you providing two bug numbers, as if they were two different issues? As far as I can see VB-17935 is a duplicate of your other report VB-14756, correct? You do not need to report the same issue twice.
Anyway, I can reproduce and confirm VB-14756 - so noted. Thanks. -
All of those here testing enjoy doing so, and thanks is all around appreciated and we show our thanks by testing :D. I was wondering, we have a place in forums for feature requests. Would it be possible for Vivaldi to release weekly polls for users to vote on the next feature that is put into the browser? I think it would be neat to be able to vote and then see the progress being done. It doesn't have to include MAJOR things like sync and mail, that take a lot of time, but things that can be done in a week or two?

The bookmarks bar regression issue compared with Vivaldi Stable 1.1 is still present in this Snapshot: it is no longer possible to successfully select text-only for bookmarks on the bar; instead they display as both icons and text, severely impairing how many bookmarks will fit on the basic bar without overflowing. If this ripples into the 1.2 Stable release, there will no longer be any 'current' Vivaldi version in any channel capable of displaying text-only bookmarks on the bar.
-
Two bugs with boorkmarks persist in 1.2 version:
BUG 1: When sorting the boorkmarks by name, address etc, the bookmarks shuffle with the folders.BUG 2:
1 - Open a bookmark.
2 - Click on the add bookmark button in address bar.
3 - Click on "Delete" to send the bookmark to trash.
4 - Click on the add bookmark button again. Now it is not possible anymore to delete the bookmark that is on the trash as it is possible to do on previous versions.
5 - Click one more time on add bookmark button and it will not response.I have not reported these bugs. Please, someone with a good English report it.

clicking on extensions in private browsing still doesn't work

I'm not sure if this is a major issue, but it seems like some keyboard input doesn't work on Speed Dial. I think it's because the addressbar is auto-focused.
For example the arrow keys (Up, Down), Page Up, Page Down, Home, End don't work on Speed Dial.
