No time to rest. Vivaldi 1.1 is here with enhanced tab handling, better hibernation and more!

hi, vivaldi team!
i actually have no complaints, no feature requests – i'm, like, REALLY happy with this browser! mad browser love
for work, i'm required to use ie, firefox, and chrome; at home, i test/use those plus opera, brave, and yandex. in terms of memory use, performance on all types of page loads, including multimedia, and stability, vivaldi is far ahead/far superior.
thanks so much! -
Yay! Fine work, flokes!
Interesting behavior:
Removing a file from the Downloads Panel does remove the file entry in the Downloads page at vivaldi://downloads .Removing a file from the Downloads page does not remove the file entry in the Downloads Panel.
I can't decide if it's a bug or a feature with seniority.
The "Save As" feature is broken for Extensions. The "Save As" dialog box for backing up/exporting Extension settings comes up but always saves the file to the Default Download path.
Toggling the "Always Save to Default Download Location" in the dialog box just removes the "Save As" option and un-checking the box in the Vivaldi Settings | Downloads restores the broken "Save As" feature.
The Import dialog box works correctly for Extensions to pick the location and file to restore settings.

Awesome on the 1.1 release! Can't wait to see what 1.2 release holds. Do you think we could have a vertical tab list cycler like O12, where I can customize the keyboard shortcuts, and even use right-click scroll without having scroll on tab bar enabled? That would be awesome. Another thing I'd like to see is to have the mouse cursor disappear during fullscreen videos.
Other than that, and a lot of polishing of what we've already got, performance/UI improvements, RAM/CPU improvements, and we've got ourselves an amazing browser!

Are the experimental Vivaldi M5 e-mail memory engrams beginning to kick in or is the web site slightly more confused than usual?
For some reason when I refreshed this Comment page after posting a comment, Vivaldi put up a warning box at the top of the page that says:
Note
SMTP Error: Could not authenticate. The only things I have right now for e-mail in Vivaldi is a couple of SpeedDial entries for regular and extra-crispy Vivaldi Webmail. To give credit where credit is due, not one single SpeedDial thumbnail has changed or disappeared for the last couple of months unless I intentionally refreshed it. Top Sites is a svelte 41MB.
Edit: Sorry about spamming the e-mail notification list. I logged in to Vivaldi Webmail and it warned me about an expired session. The SMTP notice no longer appears at the top of this page.
Edit the Edit: The bogus SMTP notice is back again. Woohoo!

Or maybe Vivaldi can provide .torrent links along with download files?
-
I loved the millions reference. So Vivaldi is growing well. More will follow. Then profits begin. Then Vivaldi can increase their resources and further improve and evolve. It will snowball hopefully. It's great.

You had connection details AES 128 GCM etc. It doesn't exist in 1.1.
-
1. Please make black theme with white adress bar to can see what we write.
2. Paste and go is still NOT translated to Bulgarian and maybe other languages… Paste and go to Bulgarian language: Paste and go (Постави и отвори), or (Постави и посети), but i prefer first: Paste and go (Постави и отвори).
3. Add in vivaldi.com to can download old Final versions if we have problem with latest Final version.
4. Tab dragging to another window
5. And we can't wait to can Sync our bookmarks, passwords, sites, speed dial tabs,,,
BTW. Congrats for good job, my main and absolute favorite browser - Vivaldi
-
Very useful function, for me is one of the basic features for an advanced browser.

Looking good so far. I think the only thing that is truly holding me back from using Vivaldi as my main browser is the Tab Cycler. It's got a lot of room for improvement. The big thumbnail and horizontal layout it is using currently is just not good when you have more than a few tabs open. If you can make it an option to disable thumbnails and maybe just put it in a vertical list of just the webpage titles I would switch.

How do i know that my vivaldi is the snapshot or final??? and i am using windows 7 64x and download vivaldi 64x (experimental) is their any problem???? reply please!!!
-
Hi,
2 - "Paste and Go" is not yet translated into any language, not even the "Trash" in the side panel (Bookmark and Note);
4 - You can do it with DX button on the tab, Move to, New Window. -
You can disable thumbnails for tabs. Settings –> Tabs.
-
Check in Help, About. The final version is Vivaldi.1.1.453.47
-
You cannot. I'm talking about the tab cycler. The menu that pops up when you right click and scroll. The two Thumbnail options available in the Tabs settings tab are for when you mouse over a tab in the tab bar or for showing in the tab bar when you expand the size. You cannot disable the thumbnail in the tab cycler.

Hi, go to Vivaldi menu (left corner), in menu go to Help, and then About.
On the first line is written from that used version. When there is Stable in parentheses it is the final version. And x64 is normal version -
Please correct the translation
. I know you have a lot of work with features, but I think that already in the final version should be the translation of all things 100%. The problem is mainly in the settings, because some things are translated and others are in English. For the less experienced or less linguistically skilled people it can be a problem. I use Snapshot, and there I understand, and I understood it in beta, but also watch the final version and now is called the second final version, and the problem is still there. I believe that this is in the next major update will do fine.

Thank you. Closing tabs is a much smoother experience now (go right after closing is finally here!)
I am hoping for two things in the near future:
1. Completely configurable mouse gestures (able to add anything and delete anything, like in old Opera). I suppose this is too much to ask for in version 1.2, but maybe by version 1.5 it won't be a problem.
2. Download manager improvements. Show download speed; pause, resume and stop buttons. Also, would like a download tab instead of panel. Also also, ability to choose "Always open this file in this program," like in old Opera. For instance, when I click on a torrent link, it would automatically open utorrent if so set (there would be no save/open prompt).
There are other things I'd like, but… baby steps!
V.

thanks very much for your answer and your effort
I was about downloading when I realised, that this package is considerably smaller than the 'official' one. So probably there are some features (codecs?) missing, which would mean I'd rather wait for the next official snapshot. Sorry 'bout that. -
Awesome, another person who wants a better tab cycler! Check out my comment above. I want a vertical list tab cycler that works exactly as Opera 12 did. The way to do that is:
-Have a vertical list option, plus option to have a thumbnail beside.
-Be able to customize keyboard shortcuts of cycling through tabs in the tab cycler. Right now in Vivaldi, you can go left and right through tabs with a custom keyboard shortcut, but not in the tab cycler, and that's annoying.
-Have right-click and scroll through tabs enabled, but WITHOUT also having tab bar scroll enabled, just like O12.O12 had an amazing tab cycler, and I would like Vivaldi to imitate it completely.
