No time to rest. Vivaldi 1.1 is here with enhanced tab handling, better hibernation and more!

Confirmed. The same applies for Twitter ones, along with GIFs. W10 x64, Viv x64.

This is exactly my thought. My Opera 12 configurations have made me think of other browsers as "archaic", because those configurations I made have become "essential" (of course now finally have Vivaldi). I think this is the power of options. It allows you to make your own conclusions towards the most efficient and optimal way of browsing. This in fact was the reason Opera 12 back in the days was marketed as the fastest browser on the web. It wasn't because it was the fastest in speed (even when it pretty much was for a while), but because you could optimize it for yourself. Each person has their own specific subset in that complicated Venn diagram you mention.
In the case of a cycler, I don't actually use it, instead I made my tabs to be THE cycler. I put my tabs on the right side (in order to see them vertically) and with the preview always on (in order to optimize accuracy when looking for a specific tab). I would then use right click + scroll or ctr+tab to switch between them in position order. In O12 I went one step further and customized all my mouse gestures to fit this layout and changed all keyboard shortcuts to only use keys that can be accessed by my left hand (the only hand that permanently stays at the keyboard). My "own" optimization and efficiency conclusion are the next:
- Conclusion 1: Mouse is the most efficient selector for both site content and tabs (and not spacial navigation or other technologies, even tho they are nice).
- Action 1: The mouse should stay mostly in the middle of the browser since its primary function is website content selection. This action affects the input decisions for functions in action 2.
- Action 2: Move all functions related to websites interactions, including tabs switching, closing, opening and overall tabs management to the mouse. This includes the cycler I just mentioned and other things. Mouse gestures take into consideration, the overall flow of the mouse when browsing a site and switching between tabs (e.g. closing tab should start with gesture up as opposed to gesture down, since you start moving from top to bottom on the newly switched tab after the previous one is closed).
- Conclusion 2: Keyboard is then most efficient for everything else.
- Action 1: Because of conclusion 1, move all other functionality to left hand keyboard inputs.
- Conclusion 3: Permanent Tab Preview makes tab recognition faster because of faster visual recognition.
- Action 1: Activate tab previews
- Conclusion 4: Horizontal Tab preview reduces website content spacing
- Action 1: Set tabs to the right (or left) side of the browser.
- Conclusion 5: Tab closing button is not used in this layout because of mouse gesture/Middle click.
- Action 1: Remove tab close button.
These are just some of the core conclusions I have. I know everyone doesn't agree with them, but that's what makes browsers like Vivaldi so freaking good.
Anyways, I'm interesting in reading more about your ideas. When you say you don't open a site by using the address bar in a new tab or search, what exactly do you mean? How do you have your browser configured?
I learned a lot from other people's ideas in order to get to my configuration so it would be nice to understand yours.

Please give us multi-row tabs.
At work I use Vivaldi as my main browser (cannot use FF due to corporate firewall and https sites) and having all my tabs in stacks are killing me. All the searching for the correct tab, hover - and - wait for the previews to appear - before I can click on a tab.
Multiple lines is just faster to me. And as I understand it, it's mainly CSS of the UI. Someone did an extension to the UI that allowed this but then Vivalid changed the UI code and it broke.

I reported as false positive. Meantime I will try to do something else…
Maybe I just will need to use Firefox until this fixes.
But, I would like to know why is the problem with Avast just after the last update, before de 1.1 version everything was fine...
-
Vivaldi updated to a new engine. Avast didn't recognize it as "permitted" software.

GREAT, funny! That's what I thought also. Close ….I'll tell later.
It is SOMEWHAT off topic but really important. I just was saying to me the translation is MORE important, you can have both.I understand, it may work for few situations but words are specific.
A stick drawing, when I first saw it, confused me also on what it meant...until mens and womans RR they put the so called dress on her.Another great one is a gear and 4 straight lines on Android.

Win 7 64 Bit, Viv 64
Everything works here! Video took awhile to load but from US so not surprised, slow system all the way around. Rather interesting, wish I spoke Italian. Rather cute woman also, now I wonder if Pizzas are better there looks good…I know they would be different.
Think Pizzas aren't true Italian either. -
Don't know where you have them, placed but on top I think you have a choice in settings. Surly it works on all.

The UI has gotten a lot more fluid in recent updates but I still have this problem where I get a blanked out screen whenever I close a tab (see here: http://i.imgur.com/w5fURPj.png). It lasts about a second before the next active tab appears properly, so it's not the end of the world but frustrating nonetheless. Using Vivaldi 32-bit on Win 64.

thanks great job.
What ist mit Vivaldi M3 mail ? -
The mail client will come, though they dont give an ETA. I, personally, prefer it to be nearly bug-free when it comes out, just think about what will happen if there is a bug and you will lose all your mails.

Then perhaps you run automatic cleaning software that deletes cookies and such after shut down? All of my Google accounts, facebook, etc. stay logged in, all the time, forever, unless I log out of them.
No. I don't have software who cleaning cookies and others. And I'm login to all my accounts, but when i search from google i'm not login in. I will try with Vivaldi 1.0.435.42 Final x86
Nothing changed… I don't know from what can have this issue....
-
Please tell me where I can able this since I cannot find this option at all.
-
…I was talking about being easier for people to get involved in development. Making practicable to submit patches for instance, not pushing papers or being a groupie.

As much as I enjoy being patronized, I understand that there are differences between Windows and Linux just as I understand the similarities between Linux and OSX. I'm also aware that many of the developers are Linux users and that this website is running on an Ubuntu server.
The point I attempted to make however, is that Milestones should be firmly set cross-platform. If a feature is slated for a particular version then that goal should not be bumped further down the roadmap for a particular Operating System just because someone's excited or there's some sort of press-deadline to release a new version.

Can I disable tab hibernation?
-
Any option in the future to import custom searches from Opera 12.x & Opera 15+?
-
I think Dovelove misunderstood. Vivaldi does not have multi-row tabs at present. You can put tabs at the side, which makes them scrollable on overflow. That's the best I can tell you.
-
In Vivaldi browser i am unable to play any video from this site http://www.dodear.com/index.php/en/Video
since preview 1. Although i can view videos from this site in Opera 12.18.
Can anybody confirm -
