Snapshot 1.1.453.6 - Further tab closing options, improved dark UI and more import options

I agree. I know Vivaldi is full of wizards who can make web browsing great again, but it'll take time in order to get there. I can't wait until the performance has improved to levels of other browsers, and even CPU/RAM usage has improved some more(it's not bad now for me, but I'd love to see how it is in the future).

- Missing "download panel" entry (empty space) in the vivaldi menu after crash
- Missing panel if the checkbox (expand/collapse) in the settings is not enabled.
and IMHO, join tabs by host (and bookmarks in panel) should be in tree style way, if possible
Anyone can confirm these?

Can you PLEEAASE add a setting to disable tab thumbnails (not the popups, those I want) completely?
I close tabs with the middle mouse button. Very often I accidentally click on the area between the tabs and the address bar. When I do that I see the tab thumbails which I don't want.

[Glitch/hiccup/gremlin
] I just emptied the trash (about 15 bookmarks) and Vivaldi crashed. It came back up automatically.

Confirmed. It's been happening since some SSs. W10 x64, Viv x64.

Too bad, this snapshot no longer installs on Debian Wheezy (7) 64bit due to an 'Dependency is not satisfiable: libstdc++6 (>= 4.8.0)' I had seen the message in Chrome, but had hoped that this oldstable version of debian (that is, still supported!) would not be abandoned by Vivaldi
I'll have to stick with the old version and reconsider the options….(upgrading to Jessie is not an option) -
No context menu on a webpage. Right-clicking fails to give the context menu on this webpage: http://hpot.jp/stage/inishman2016 . Is this a known problem? Or should I report?
I tested both the trackpad and the regular mouse, neither giving the context menu. At this moment, I just want to select a portion of text and "copy" it to the clipboard, which I can accomplish from the main "Edit" menu.
By the way, the Vivaldi forum isn't usable to check if this has been discussed. I just typed "context menu" in the search box of the forum but didn't get any relevant discussion threads. (I don't read Russian but 70% of search results are in Russian.) Isn't that a huge waste of resource? (I have nothing against Russian

Not close. It's a HUGE project, and they are sweating over it daily - but there is no arrival date projected.
-
<rant>I have "just" jumped on the Chrom* board with Vivaldi.
I'm still totally graveled that there's no regular and practical way to backup the relevant settings offered by the chrome/google super heroes, those famous saviors of information technology. It just needs a "backup" action/command with a target directory as the minimum config item</rant>

"Emulation" tab again disappear from "Developer tools"
-
It still doesn't change anything about the gradient of the extension icons although I can see why the "color area behind tabs" would look better to some people.

Use this: https://screentogif.codeplex.com/
You might need to increase the framerate if it doesn't show clearly.
-
It does work correctly for me, for what it's worth. Just stating in case you are wondering if it's worth to give this build a try or not.
-
One can only hope!
-
The login/logout bug is returned. I can't logoff on page where new tab is opened to handle this process. New tab remains opened, but logoff action is not performed, I still remain logged on.
-
There is no mention about the (¿future?) M3 Mail client, neither in the browser website features, neither in the browser side panels. Does M3 finally drop from Vivaldi? (sorry for my English)
-
Yes, speed dials are a bit too easy to delete. I think we need an option not to show the delete button on speed dials, or maybe just remove it entirely. One can right-click to delete a speed dial or use the Bookmarks panel.
I'd like to go one further and reiterate my wish for the option to disable the Close button. Given the slownesss with which Vivaldi starts up (on my machine, 4GB RAM, 1GHz processor) it is a pain when I accidentally close it down - and it happens all too often… Obviously a right-click facility to close down would be useful.
To recover accidentally deleted speed dials, open the Bookmarks panel and drag them out of the Trash bin, and back into the Speed Dial folder.
Thanks for that tip!

Browser identification. Why do they think the current Vivaldi is different from the one I used a few months ago?
I'm not sure where to ask this question, but my bank website wants to limit access to the "devices" I have approved. That's very good. But, I often have to approve Vivaldi on the same computer even though I did so some time ago. Since the bank websites remembers only three devices, I end up with three instances of "Vivaldi on home MacBook", which kick out other machine/browser combinations.
So, what do you think my bank website remembers? Is that the browser user-agent string? If so, isn't it wise to change the string only when there is a major version change (like from Vivaldi 1.0 to Vivaldi 2.0)?
