Snapshot 1.0.385.5 - Changes to tab opening and closing behaviour
-
Also, my tabs refuse to always show the close button. This has been the case for several versions now.
-
1. MMB in "History folder" work like LMB
2. Dynamic search and suggestions - google, bing…
3. BUG Folders bar (bookmarks) is outside of the browser. Lost the mark "+" http://imgur.com/B81iFrL http://imgur.com/YSQVDWN -
When I right-click a link and choose 'Open link in incognito window' the link (and pages that I navigate to in the newly opened private window) end up in my history.
-
Yeah ! !
-
Finally! My number one priority for switching to vivalid was fulfilled. Now i can surf in peace. Thank you.
-
Not sure if it's the same, but… For grouping tabs we have 'stack similar tabs' or whatever the feature is called.
If this is not the same, we would need both colour indicators. But this one is more needed (as it indicate which tabs will be stacked).
+1PS: devs are still solving the well known 'contrast' issue (horizontal Vivaldi menu is not visible on certain domains if we use colour scheming from these domains…) -> they need to solve this issues first before adding more colouring preferences I guess.

Thanks a lot for letting us customize and not forcing us to one way or another.
-
when I click a favorite, it does not open (1.0.385.5) 64bit

Win7 64, 8 Gig 32 Viv
Had no problem…used FF. Can't run Viv for now

The new tab opening and closing behaviour is sugar! Really neat. Big thanks for that!
The new changes resolve my reported issue:
(VB-12130) Open-Tab-Button (+ icon) should allways open newtabs at the last position -
the extension was blocking https everywhere
-
Yay! Open link in private/incognito window, nice!
But VB-10758 is still annoying.. stealing focus, making [alt]+[tab] useless
AND can we have a language chooser on linux like the mac and windows versions pretty please!Debian 8 (Jessie), x64
Enlightenment 0.20.3 (E20) Desktop -
The "other popular browsers'" default behaviour for tab placement and closing is one of the most annoying and stupid things around that has forced me staying with Opera <12 for years. I appreciate having options but I don't like the idea of enforcing it as the default; it means that "we" (i.e. you) are after the masses; a new breed of users that have been corrupted by bad desktop metaphors and inefficient computing use during their whole life.
-
A bit of a drama over nothing. It takes seconds to change it to the way you want. It's not as if Vivaldi are forcing you to use their default method (the reason it's now a default is so it can be tested), as they've supplied you with the options to revert it. Saying that you've been forced not to go beyond Opera 11 is a bit odd, seeing that you're not being forced to use the option.
-
I don't like new "Next To Related Tabs" option, I need "Right of Current Tab"!
-
Yeah, it'd be a good idea to have that as an option. I think the next to related tab option is a good option, but there should be an option to have it the way that you desire.
-
VB-12408 Open multiple bookmarks
I know I was moaning about this option, but - you have added it! I'm so happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And for the new tabs behavior too! For all. You are great! [self-censorship] the other browsers.
-
Was hoping that doing a search in the search bar would open a new tab rather than use the same one. This behaviour is very annoying as I have to remember to open a new tab just to do a search or use keyboard shortcuts.
I much prefer how firefox handles searches, using the address bar yields the same results as Vivaldi in using the current tab while using the search bar opens in a new tab.
And speaking of old methods, what happened to the horizontal menu? Thought we were going to be able to choose the old version which we could theme in the css as an alternative to the new native one.

IPv6-only hosts are broken now:
This webpage is not available
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIGHmm, it seem that was kind of a glitch, after some time, it came back to normal…
-
YES!!! Grrr, It's so irritating to go back a page because I pressed the Alt key and moved my mouse at the same time! New Opera doesn't even do that. And I also want to turn off the Alt key for activating the menu, not that that matters that much, but it would be nice to not have any unexpected behavior. I also sometimes click on some things like this one time I clicked somewhere on the address bar and the entire browser closed . . .
