Snapshot 1.0.375.3 - Over fifty further fixes and improvements
-
I got this problem during my 1st try with Vivaldi and found the problem with µtorrent GUI login. I solved this that I tried every side with a restart of Vivaldi. The bug is solved in the meantime, but every time before a new snapshot is installed I copy the whole Vivaldi folder for later switchback. Hope it helps and you can find out the problem.

good to know that the devs are aware of the issue

I've noticed that Vivaldi is actually faster in this build. Could it be because the file size in the update was 39.2MB instead of the usual 42-43MB?
-
Strangely, this is the changelog that was attached to the "phantom upgrade" I experienced two days ago…

Still has a minor bug where if you close all the tabs and end up with the speed dial and then attempt to type into the address bar it will not trigger the autocomplete/history.
-
I've been the 64-bit version as my default browser for a while now. It's been very stable for me. I haven't noticed any 'show-stopper' bugs. No crashes or anything like that. Probably the most obvious 'unpolished' aspect is that the Speed Dial icons still disappear.
There are a few usability issues.
1 - No close tab options. By far my biggest issue. Going to the last active tab after closing a tab is very annoying. Doesn't make the browser unusable, but I don't think it should be released as a 1.0 without tab closing options.2 - I find the URL autocomplete a bit off. I think in Opera 12 it would favour autocompleting to the parent URL. Usually, when I start typing, say, amazon.com, I want to go to the amazon home page. Vivaldi tends to pick up something from history or bookmarks and I would end up at a product. I think in Opera 12, if I start typing amazon.com it would autocomplete to amazon.com, and would not autocomplete to something deeper until I typed the /. To me, that seems more logical, but every user is different.
3 - This one is minor, but I'd love to have mouse flip forward (hold left-click then right-click) to have the Fast Forward function, like in Opera 12.
-
Thank you for reminding on that. I can confirm it has been noticed.
Please let know what else do you see especially disturbing that in your opinion needs to be fixed for Final. Thanks. -
Could you provide details what do you mean and what options would you need?

I think I must be misunderstanding: VB-11787 Make scroll wheel on tabs an option and off by default
I would like to use right-mouse and scroll to switch tabs, but I do NOT want the scroll wheel to switch tabs if the cursor is over the tab area.
VB-11787 sounds like it should facilitate this, but the only option I can find disables all forms of mouse wheel tab switching? -
#2 - Absolutely. I've had to turn off Autocomplete because of its current behaviour.
-
VB-11620 not fixed for me - up/down arrows in notes and bookmarks do not work. They work for you?
-
It is already reported as:
VB-12134 Split the Switch Tabs by Scrolling setting into two: upon hover vs. by RMB/Alt -
RAM usage is a bit better, but CPU usage is a lot worse. There were processes that actually take up more than 10% CPU, and some processes go up to 10%, all at the same time. This never happened in Vivaldi before. It used to be that CPU never went over 5% for most processes.
-
Well, this is aggravating!
The arrow keys were working this morning, now they're not and using the up/down arrow in a Bookmark Description field scrolls through the other Bookmarks/Bookmark folders. That was a surprise… I did some fancy scrollwork in the Description field to 'find' the correct Bookmark again before leaving the editing mode to make sure it didn't mess anything up.

Windows 32 bit download size is 37.35 MB and 64 bit is 42.78 MB so size depends on which OS and what bit rate you are comparing

Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit
Regression: This is a new problem with this snapshot; when I try to bring up Tools -> Settings or use Alt+P, I now get the Popup Window for Settings, but it is just a rectangle with a transparent interior. I have to move the focus to another window in order for the content in the Settings window to appear or be rendered. Weird. Choosing the option to open Settings in a tab however works fine.
Problem: This has been occurring for a while now. If I activate the popup options display for an extension that has an icon on the Address bar, then it redraws/flashes about once a second. This is very annoying. This happens for extensions such as Adblock Plus, uBlock Origin, and LastPass. This issue makes LastPass unusable for me.
… a little more experimenting, and it appears that the problem with the flashing extension displays is related to having Gmail running in a tab. If I get rid of my Gmail tab, this issue goes away.

There are a few little things I still hope to see in the browser, ultimately. Foremost among these is the ability to place the bookmarks bar vertically at the side of the browser. Odd as it may sound, this is actually critical to my workflow. Secondly, the ability to stack pinned tabs, or pin stacked tabs would be very useful. Otherwise, there are few things that make any real difference to me, but for ONE. And that one is email. I basically am biding my time at this point, waiting for email to arrive so that I can once again return to my optimal workflow as it was 3 years ago before Opera opted for profits over people. Email. You know, that early promise of Email? That's right. Email.

On this blog small problem I've noticed using this build, when I want to vote for
Thumbs up Thumbs down when hovering, BOTH not the one I want to vote for are grayed, so not sure which it is voting for. -
Neither great for me….LONGGGGGG time to load. 50 Meg Free RAM

With this version, many flash videos don't work anymore. The plugin area is displayed. Clicking on execute plugin doesn't do anything.
Could you split the "switch tabs with mouse scroll" in 2 options ?
- 1 for using the mouse wheel on tab area (which is anoying because it is often accivated by accident)
- 1 for Ctrl or right mouse button + mouse scroll
