Snapshot 1.0.375.3 - Over fifty further fixes and improvements

Really? I only have 6GB of RAM on my laptop. Intel Core i5, Windows 10(64bit) with 32bit Vivaldi. Do you have other programs open?
-
I fully agree. And for me, sometimes it's slow, sometimes it's fast. It's really weird and random. And it doesn't matter how much cache I remove to try to make it fast again, it just does it.
-
Could it be mostly the Core i3, i5, or i7 mostly doing it? My performance isn't as bad as his, but like others, my laptop has had some heat issues with Vivaldi and I have an i5, and others have had the same. So maybe the slow performance issue affects a lot of the Core series users because of power usage?

The last many Chromium version have had problems, I'm afraid. The only thing they can do now is keep going, and if the Chromium team, Google, or Opera team fixes all of that, and the resource hoggingness, then it should be fine. At some point, I'd like Vivaldi's team to be big enough after they've monetized their browser that they can contribute to the Chromium source code and make it actually great and efficient, like I heard Presto was. It seems to be a mess now.
Who knows, maybe they'll even fork the engine too at some point.
-
Better your chances of getting the team to look at your videos: Write a bug report with a link to your videos. Heck, I'll even do it too because I want to help bring awareness on this thing and to help development as much as I can.

now I see the laggin' UI too. It just didn't came to my mind to open 50 new tabs in 2 seconds before. Just tried to open a few with the "+"-symbol and there wasn't a big delay. Somehow closing 50 tabs (after the UI reacts again, of course) by "right-click -> close other tabs" seems to be comparatively fast.
one could argue that opening 50 tabs in a few seconds isn't everyday business, but freezing the browser by simply pressing Ctrl-T two seconds is something which a lot of people are capable of by accident.
Probably it has something to do with the speed-dial. The background pic, the thumbnails. Everything is rendered multiple times in the background …
Opening 50 tabs with an invalid url (which causes just 50 simple error-pages) out of a folder (right-click -> open folder) doesn't bring the browser down, just tried it. -
Lots of good points. We do read all comments even though we do not always reply.

Also, I have a feature request. I have my e-mail always open in a pinned tab, but since its size has been minimized as a pinned tab, I can't see when there's a new e-mail, requiring me to manually verify every time.
When unpinned, the tab name will change to 〇〇〇@mailprovider.com (number of new messages since last visit). Since you can't see the tab name, you can't see the notification.
I want websites that provide such manners of notification to change colors in order to make it stand out. Just like Skype that blinks orange when you have a new message.

- Performance is being looked into in different areas to constantly improve it, but I am unable to be more specific in details. To understand your case better, would you be able to provide screen recording how slow it is for you? I have 40 tabs opened on my a lot weaker laptop than your configuration and tabs work pretty snappy in my judgment, almost like there was only a few of them.
That depends on what sites are open. for me, Gaming Youtube utilizes a lot more RAM and CPU than normal Youtube, and Outlook.com just skyrockets the CPU usage. I too sometimes have 20+ tabs open from the same domain that don't hinder the browser by a lot, but sometimes I have just this one tab that uses all my CPU!
- There is such setting in Tabs section: Show Tab Thumbnails. So what do you need more? The option to block the ability to drag down the tab border to show them? Why is this so critical/disturbing for you? I would say it is a minor detail, maybe not even worth a dedicated setting option.
I would like said option because I usually end up dragging it down when what I want to do is either close or select a single tab. That can be very annoying on the long run, especially when Vivaldi is consuming most of the RAM and CPU you have and it takes too long to load all thumbnails.
- They really still disappear? All at once or one by one after some time or maybe you noticed some other condition here? Have you used Clear Private Data / Clear history… dialog? It now removes thumbs.
I can confirm this! I usually have all my Speed Dials quite in their place, and suddenly, one day, they all disappear. No Clear Private Data, no Clear History, not even CCleaner. They just disappear. Updating them one by one solves the issue, but they do vanish from time to time.

Thank you so much! It's a real joy to be part of a community that listens to feedback and improves an already amazing product in meaningful ways.

I really want to use this browser and can ignore mostly all the issues under the sun. The BIGGEST issue for me is that opening saved tabs in tabcloud just doesn't work. It makes the whole browser just unusable to me.

I would like to be able to get the emails without having to post because sometimes I don't have anything concrete to say but without posting I can't get the emails. After a while the blog gets so long that keeping up with the new posts becomes impossible without reading the whole thing from top to bottom. Thus the beauty of emails.
