Snapshot 1.0.303.32 - Beta Candidate
-
I felt so sad when real Opera died. And when I heard about Vivaldi, I was overjoyed for this reason.
-
Great progress. However, until I can control what goes onto the Speed Dial, the number of rows/columns and the size of the thumbnails, there is no chance I will be switching over from Opera 12.
-
I'm not sure whether this has been reported before, but a (very) quick search didn't come up with anything, so here it goes:
Whenever I close full-screen (both from e.g. a video and just F11), the tab bar is empty, with only the plus button visible. Creating a new tab or switching to a different tab (with ctrl-tab) brings back all the tabs.
Win7 64bit -
Was done because compatibility problems with MacOS

I hope you are not going beta without solving this
The problem another user and I have reported in the past weeks, seems to be still in need to be addressed: m.mlb.com/video/v488629983/91815-condensed-game-nyynym this is how we have fullscreen on Linux with websites using Flash i58.tinypic.com/4tvo9h.png
It seems I will have to use Slimjet to watch the World Series… -
Sorry if this has been addressed somewhere, but is there a roadmap entry for when the dev tools will be up to date with Chrome? This is the one big thing (that I know of) that's holding me from switching to Vivaldi. Being a dev, I'd miss the features of the latest dev tools in Chrome. Thanks!

Win 7 64 Bit, 32 Viv
Unfortunately for the last 2, 3 build including this one I can not longer use this browser due to the memory issue.
I had hoped that my problem of memory was solved with this build…not so. was trying to use it as default and less than 1/2 hr. Windows low memory popup. CPU to 100% and 59 Meg free again, had to leave back to FF.
I have NO other Chrome Browser installed, just FF, IE, and Opera 12.17, Opera 20 and NONE have this problem so if I'm the only one I guess I'll just be stuck with these browsers. No other browsers were running or open but Vivaldi, to make it worse NO other main programs were running. No bitcoin and wallet, no Word-processing, no encrypted drive,no spreadsheet nata. With FF have had several of these running at same time with MANY more tabs than Viv.
I would LOVE to get this problem solved it is above my ability, I posted screenshots of Win Taskmaster with a partially Filled Viv Task-manger Screen. I tried to get "screen for nurds" clipped but when it FINALLY got filled I had the crash.
T 9400 2.53Mhz Intel Dual core processor, I know it is an older one but if only one program of all I have is giving me problems has to be a program issue. I am limited on time..wasted most of day today...this isn't my main work but would be willing to help anyone with more info if not above my ability.
My view is if TWO or more that just GAVE up on this blog have these issues when BETA is released 1000's are going to have the problem and give Vivaldi a bad image...sorry not flaming just facts. I realize this is pre-beta but it has been a MAJOR problem for me and above person for a LONG time.

Not work when paste URL above existing URL
-
Is there a lot of disk accessing going on?
-
The last snaphots are very good! Vivaldi becomes always better. It has some little annoyances (extensions, speed dial), but the browser-feeling (speed, memory usage, smooth rendering, etc…) is quite well. Now I use it most in time.
Only one big problem for me: I can't it install without administration rights unlike to Opera offline version.
-
On my previous post I have NO idea why someone would give a thumbs down on a problem that doesn't just involve a tab move, mouse gesture, smiley face, or not the right tab color etc. That as a problem is all-right to post work on that one.
I think I and TWO others ( there were more but just gave up) NOT BEING able to use Vivaldi for SEVERAL builds AT ALL is a far more SERIOUS problem than any small posted bugs. Surly MOST REASONABLE people would agree.

Pay no mind. some people just make no sense…

Anyone could give me a working domain with a working stylish code to check the other way 'round?

Thanks FAR better comment and a help….I was just trying to dissect what I did. Too long ( was trying to give as much material that I understood to help), possibly to correct the problem. Hard to do when it fails so quickly. I appreciate your support and understanding.

I don't think so have a pretty clean drive I keep it that way. It's an SSD don't see drive light anyway. Is there any other way to tell as in Win Taskmaster?
-

It is on our list. Not everything on our list will make the beta or even 1.0, but our goal is to give you the flexibility to get Vivaldi just right for you!
Cheers,

NPAPI Flash is being deprecated in Chromium/Blink and will soon be unsupported by this branch of the browsing world, entirely. So it is not enabled in Vivaldi. PPAPI flash works fine. You probably need to download PPAPI and give it global permissions in your browser, while turning off any permission that exists for NPAPI flash for Vivaldi.
There are some web pages that run critical applications (like Silverlight) which are written to use NPAPI only. These pages are disappearing from the web since Chrome announced it was deprecating NPAPI, but some exist - even on government portal sites, etc. For these, you just have to use a different browser until the owners of those pages catch up with the times.
