Snapshot 1.0.303.32 - Beta Candidate

One can learn to code in university, or in in one's bedroom (apparently), but IMO the real learning only starts when developing a product used by millions of users.
Check out Jon's Wikipedia Entry for the basic info.

good work! Vivaldi works perfect! I use it every day!
i hope the implemented mail program will be added! Then i can replace Opera 12 -
I have the same problem with the Web UI. I actually reported it in the early months of Vivaldi. Maybe it got piled under other bug reports. Well it only happens when you set your browser to load the last session. It seems Vivaldi is having a hard time opening the WebUI interface at startup. I tested it out with my router web interface and other remote web apps that require a username and password and they all worked fine. I havent tested it without credentials though.

Search still wont work with QC when google is set as default search engine unless using a search keyword first.

As of today, suddenly and without a probable cause, Vivaldi 64 bit has crashed and it won't relaunch. I tried reinstalling but nothing. I'll try the 32 bit but how can I use the speed dial entries & setup, bookmarks etc. which I have spent time to manipulate?
Update: It won't work as 32 bit either. How can I backup my work to try a clean setup?

The x64 updater bug is quite annoying indeed. It's not really problematic - instead of directly updating when there's a new version alert, just close the browser, reopen it 'as administrator' and check for updates. However, I forget about that all the time and keep missing updates.
Something else: I usually middle-click on links to open them in a background tab. Most of the time there's no problem with that, but sometimes I come across pages for which it doesn't work. For example, on http://www.thelancet.com/series/how-to-eliminate-tuberculosis, middle-clicking 'Summary' and 'Full-text HTML' below the article titles opens the links in new pages, but middle-clicking 'PDF' opens the PDF file in the same page - annoying if you want to open all articles at once. Funnily, this doesn't happen when I use the mouse gesture for opening in a new tab, or just right click and select the option. With other PDF links (e.g. clicking "PDF (207 kb)" on http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(15)00323-2/fulltext) there's no such issue. Is this website- or browser-related?
Apart from some small issues: I love love love Vivaldi. A lot.
-
Sync is just as useless to me. Mail would be nice though. To each their own
-
Is there a Click-to-Play facility, for both Flash, and webRTC?
Maybe it is about time Security started to take some prominence!
(Beyond the reach of Google)
Also, does THIS browser repeatedly 'call Home' (google), or did I
mis-understand the report that It, did so? -
Not in Vivaldi, yet. You have to go into chrome://settings/content to set it.
-
Just copy the appdata/local/vivaldi/user data/default file to a new location. Later, you can pick out the bookmarks and other relevant files and copy them to the new install.
-
Sometimes, when I restart Vivladi, the mobile version of twitter is displayed instead of the desktop version.
It may be linked to the fact that I also have a Twitter panel. -
Hi sjudenim,
you're my hero of the day. Your code example wasn't working immediately but took my brain on the right track.Just skip the outmost directive entirely, and instead employ the URL-restriction using Stylish's Applies to-section.
a, span, div, p, .stBodyText { font-size: 41px !important; }
Thank you very much!
someone, happy

If this is a beta candidate, shouldn't the about string in vivaldi:about be updated to say "Beta" and not "Developer Build"?
-
Thank you for your reply Jon. I think there is a missunderstanding here. We are not asking for some other presentation of bookmarks. Just a missing context menu.
I created a thread to describe the issue again and attach a picture to clarify what we mean.

Why can I still not import my bookmarks, passwords, and notes from Opera 12.17?
I managed many builds ago, but have not been able to do it again in recent builds, even after a clean installation.
I use a Standalone installation on a virtual VeraCrypt drive O:\ where Opera 12.17 is also stored. I select Opera 12.x and import operaprefs.ini from its profile folder. The dialogue just sits there doing nothing at all.

works better than the last, to keep improving

nasty bug alert:a Vivaldi's restart has solved it (for now)
anyone can confirm the "Typed history" bug when you can't select ("go to") a page from a address bar's dropdown using the LMB? (works with keyboard - enter)how to reproduce:
click on the drop down in the address bar
click (LMB) on an address to goConfirmations? W8.1 x64 with this x32 build
PS: THIS is pretty serious as many of ppl I know simply click on the address instead of using arrows and enter…
-
Works fine here, on W10.
-
Since a beta candidate is not a beta, then no. It hasn't crossed that hurdle yet.
-
hmm, simple restart has solved it (for now)… thanks for a hint.
