Snapshot 1.0.252.3 - Typed history dropdown, more polish on Web-panels and Extensions… and smooth scrolling
-
I tried just before upgrading – the previous build (the giant 1.0.249.12 update the other day) smoothly scrolled between Home/End too. What was the difference now? (Does it now smoothly scroll on mice with more discrete scroll wheel ticks? I can't tell with my mouse.) Or do you mean it was added in that previous build? Also, I assume you won't keep it just as a command line flag, and will add it to the settings UI -- right?
-
Yes. Surely. Some kind of highlight would be necessary in that case, I thought it was too obvious to detail it.
-
–disable-smooth-scrolling doesn't work for me too. OS is windows 10 x64 Japanese.
Edit: Seems like PgUp/PgDn/Home/End is now non-smooth with disable the commandline, but mousewheel does still do smooth scrolling.
Edit2: Others already mentioned this. my bad. -
I experience both those issues, plus another.
In Vivaldi on Linux (Arch, 64-bit), when I have tabs set to the side, when closing a tab, a totally unrelated tab also "closes". I put that in quotes, b/c the tab does indeed disappear, however if I close Vivaldi and re-open it, the tab that disappeared erroneously is back, so I think this would be a UI issue if anythingn.

The arrow was intended as the arrow (physical) key.

"Ctrl + Q" => Type "Export Settings" => Find the Menu Entry => Hit Enter => Doesn't Work !
-
This was the first step. There is more to come.

Does someone know the mobile url from google+? I like the new panel. I use this from my social networks but I don't know the url from google+

As a big user of youtube (as i imagine many are), i'm quite interested in the MSE & H.264 support, can you give any news on that?
I also see a lot of familiar names from Opera's blogs in here :p

Hi jstNE,
It is great if you report bugs into the bug tracking system. It is easiest to follow things up there. Do not assume we know about issues, we may not. Please include information about the platform and the version you are running.
With respect to clean install, that should not be necessary. Sometimes it is useful to see if issues are related to a messed up profile, but many issues only show them selves after building up a profile with plenty of content. We need to fix them as well.
Thanks!

Speed dial - middle click should open the page in the background tab as in the last version. The way it works now… well... it's not a speed dial anymore.

Hello
First I'd like to congratulate for new version. I support you very much. I used custom panels in Opera 12. Web panels that you added in this week was really suprise. They are next level of Opera 12 panels. I really cant wait when Vivaldi final version appears (with mail, rss client & synchro). Meantime I notice several issues:
1. CTRL + click (and middle click) in Speed Dial should open background tab - it doesn't
2. After importing bookmarks from Opera 30 (and even refreshed) - thumbnails are not displayed
3. Select more then one bookmark and click to option: open tab (or background tab) opend only one.
4. Tab to the edge (this setting should by as default) - after start the browser must press F11 to set thisAnd small suggestion - settings as a new tab.
I keep my fingers crossed for continued rapid growth.

Works fine here, middle-click opens it in the background tab, w7x64 32bit Vivaldi.

Hell yeah, smooth scrolling!
Anyway, found a bug on Vivaldi start. When I open Vivaldi, window is always located in the middle of the screen and down restored. Anyone have this problem?Windows 10 x64 and Vivaldi is x64 bit
-
Hm - am I missing something or are plugins still not working for the x64 version on windows (8.1 x64) Would be nice to have Flash back….
I only see the chrome pdf viewer here?Extensions work, but not plugins.
And could the x64 windows installer finally be fixed so it correctly asks for administrator rights automatically? ATM it does not, so the automatic update fails each time (for many versions now) with a message that a temp directory couldn't be created.
If I run it as admin manually, it works as expected.
All other software installers do this, so I guess the installer has a bug?Everything else looks good so far, I just start to miss some cache settings - I would love to be able to disable/limit caching when developing websites. (and yes I use cache cleaner
).
Thank you so much!
Cheers,
Tom

Hej!
I have exactly the same problem. I tried to reload, to delete and create new bookmarks, nothing helped so far. But the actual improvements are really nice, only missing MHTML saving for webpages (without accessing "vivaldi://flags"). -
I love smooth scroll - thank you for the upgrade. But bookmark icon is still not showing for bookmarked pages. And I cannot view charts on https://www.tradingview.com/chart/25euojMR/# . I installed Vivaldi in a new directory but this didn't help. Is there something else I can do to troubleshoot this problem? Thanks.

Yep, great minds think alike.

I'd suggest the following procedure:
If you find a bug, post it in the forums and ask for confirmation.- Provide enough steps of how to reproduce the bug reliably.
- Mention the browser version and the OS because some bugs are OS specific.
- If you are running Linux, don't forget to mention the Desktop Environment too.
- If something else like e.g. an extension is involved, mention it and add the version of it, if available.
- if important add the information if it is an updated or a clean install and which kind of install. Some bugs do not happen with stand-alone installs other do not happen with normal install some happen only with updated etc.pp.
It would be sad if a real bug does not get confirmed internally because of that.
It is not necessary but would be welcome if you could test it with a "clean install" too. That doesn't mean that you have to install it again, just rename the profile (user data) directory or move it to another place, test it, delete the new directory and rename or move the old one back.
Then, if you are sure that it is indeed a bug: File a bug report.
Those steps will make the life of the internal testers and the employees easier, but I can understand if it is too much effort (Honestly. No joke, no irony)
So, the simple procedure would be:
- Ask in the forums or here if someone can confirm or if it is known because that can help to avoid duplicate reports
- If others confirm the bug or nobody says that it is already known:
Feel free to file a bug report and try to make as sure as possible that it can be reproduced with the steps you provide.
-
Uninstall, the extension then re-install it. That fixes it.
