Snapshot 1.0.252.3 - Typed history dropdown, more polish on Web-panels and Extensions… and smooth scrolling
-
Mmh over here the trash bin bug doesn't appear (I am using win 7 32-bit; Viv 32-bit; 1.0.252.3 also).
One click with LMB opens up normal pop-up menu. The only buggy behaviour regarding the trash bin pop-up happens when I close the browser without cleared history and 30+ visited and already closed sites.
After restarting Vivaldi the trash bin pop-up appears with one single LMB click but it won't be located anywhere near the trash bin but will always match its upper left corner with the upper left corner of the Vivaldi window (happens in maxed and windowed mode).
After history is cleared and new sites are visited and closed again, the menu will relocate itself to the trash bin.Note: the 30+ sites may be related to monitor resolution cause it is the exact height of my desktop (1280 x 720) or the window height of maxed Vivaldi window

Hehe your profile pic is the logo of a CPU manufacturer and your name is the same as a company that builds super computers. And now you are complaining about high cpu-usage?
Sorry that this post ain't helpful at all. -
Opening links from the inside is a known issue. If you follow some links inside the panel, the back button is useful (for some).

Mac版にて…右上の検索ボックスが固まり入力不能になることがちょいちょいあります。
日本語で申し訳ないです...Google translate:
Mac version at … there occasionally can become a mass non- input the upper right of the search box .
I am sorry in Japanese ... -
To verify if this memory consumption really belongs to the webpanel you could start without any tabs and then open up the vivaldi taskmanger (vivaldi button -> Tools -> Task Manager). Next click the "Statistics for Nerds" button.
Now you get a list of what eats up your memory. After the jump of your memory occupation happened, refresh the site and compare what changed.
Tough it is not that easy to see what is a webpanel and what is not because webpanel sites will be listed as "Tab" like any other tab, therefore don't open any other tab in the first place. Of course except the statistics tab -

日本語で申し訳ないです..."On the Mac version [of Vivaldi] . . . From time to time, the search box near the upper right corner freezes, not accepting any input." –- This is my translation. I'm a native speaker of Japanese. I'm slightly better than Google Translate

Wow! Thanks. The only think I am missing is custom width of tabs (manage splitter position)
-
Is there a roadmap for when the dev tools will catch up to Chrome's?

Allow me:
"In the Mac version… on the Search Box on the top right corner, you cannot type things from time to time.
Sorry for being in Japanese..."I can confirm this issue on Windows 7 as well. With this recent build, I sometimes cannot type more than three keys on the search box, requiring the usage of the URL bar for research purposes. Windows 7x64, Vivaldi 64-bits.
There will always be a problem with Disconnect and Windows - until Microsoft implements the full TCP/IP. The "Privacy Badger" is a brute force thing. The problem is a bit that Windows WINSOCK sets: SO_DONTLINGER. The patch is to clear the socket initially - before connect, and set the option before you start to use the connection. The socket may then need SO_KEEPALIVE, so you can hand it on. The Windows sockets "linger" in "TIM_WAIT" after being closed, which allows others to connect - like MS and the NSA and in the movies. This is a Windows problem only. Another more general fix is a demon that kills sockets in TIM_WAIT state. This bug can take down huge servers - I have been there, dunnit, and solved it. Email for details.

So, that 固まり actually meant freezing? I was having trouble translating that. (post above)
-
So, that 固まり actually meant freezing?
Yes! Katamaru(固まる) means "to solidify" or "to stop moving". Kooru(凍る, to freeze) is also used to mean the freezing of a program, but Katamaru is somewhat more common in this context.
-
Thanks for clarifying that. It's one of those things you only understand if you spend time speaking to someone from the country. I tried searching the meaning at jisho.org, but none of the results were related to freezing (of a program).
But, well, I too am having the same issue, so I could figure out what toga meant. And I have to say, this issue is pretty annoying.

something similar happens on Linux too.
-
DuckDuckGo extension doesn't work from keyboard (alt+g) and when I start it with the mouse the focus is not in the search field.
-
Tried this one and yes I can confirm that this happens to me too.
With 1.0.252.3 32bit on win 7 32bit -
Ruari, wonder how to "click arrow down" when it is not there? Otherwise, a great build! I'm on Windows 7 Pro, if that matters.
-
The down arrow on the keyboard.

Personally I like the idea of webpanels staying in the background. This way I can have web-based IRC open without disconnecting from all channels. But I know that eats RAM and for some pages it will be unnecessary.
Ability to set this behaviour per-panel would be best solution.
