Snapshot 1.0.212 - Mouse gestures with touchpad!
-
i tried this app: Enjoy Music Player.
Playing online music works. Music from local storage was not found. I think addons are not fully supported by Vivaldi but there is something to come. -
Thanks for the new build!
Aside from the various fixes (thanks!) and the UI still resetting to default, it seems there's not much difference from the last build for what that I can tell.
But a major bug that still keeps bugging me is history in Quick Commands. No history results showing up when I type. My Facebook history showed up though, but not all of it.
Anyways here are the bugs still present in this build that's pretty annoying. xD
BUG: [Win7x64] Opening a new tab then closing it will leave a blank page on the first or prior tab.
BUG: [Win7x64] Quick Commands still won't open (ctrl+Q)
BUG: [Mac] In Speed Dial when focus is on the address bar, shortcuts are typed-in instead of triggering said shortcuts.Of course, I'd appreciate it if these will be fixed on the next TP.

I can't upgrade for everyday use from 201 until you fix it…
This is the problem with people like Google writing the engine. Their paradigm is telling people what they ought to want instead of giving choice.
-
just checked in gnome.. no luck either. Yeah, maybe I'm too slow

Well, two little findings so far, see https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/vivaldi-browser/3974-snapshot-1-0-212-on-our-way-to-tp4#30110.
The missing site preferences I already did notice with 1.0.209.3, but forgot to feed back. Now for me the only two things lacking are proper extension support and smooth scrolling.

Double click on free space in tab bar to open new tab would be a great substitute for a '+' sign

WHAT HAPPEN TO BETA 1??????????????????????
-
Thanks for the new build. As for bugs that should be fixed before spreading I would say the installation bug where you need to run as admin. But I guess you guys are pretty aware of install problems not being liked by less technical people.
Besides that, there are still some small annoyances I run into every now and then, but I have been using it as my main browser from the first release with ever growing satisfaction.
-
You noticed that too, eh? Aahh, the vagaries of the development cycle. Nothing ever conforms to your most carefully crafted plans and expectations, That's why it's a bad idea to make time-specific or version-specific promises. You can seldom keep them…
-
No, same issue seems to appear on Mac and Linux. Already reported (VB-7442)
-
Sorry, that was my mistake. I meant SD (Speed Dial). I still have Dials that do not load images or load images that do not fit the site when I open it in a tab. And there's also a problem with the mouse scroll button, where it will sometimes stop opening pages in a new tab.
But now that I've tried this week's snapshot for a bit longer, I can say that the UI resizing problem still persists! Opening the Settings window or closing and opening the browser again will revert the UI back to 100%. Up until this point, this bug has occurred to me every time I tried any of the steps above.
Edit: I believe having an Apply (alongside a Cancel) button would solve the problem. Even if it doesn't, there should be one.
Windows 7 64x, running Vivaldi 64-bit.

Still can't use the automatic update for x64 also normal update also doesn't work.
The message Vivaldi2.png apears.
Have to install it as Administrator.
You told me to shout if it wasn't fixed -
what's the matter? it's just a naming… beta usually means feature complete. TP is "just" a public preview to show how it's going. I can't see a lot differences compared these beside the feature complete stuff...
-
I hate that too… have to use "Delete" button (not backspace) and write whole address because of the autocomplete... that's not "the fastest way" how to work...
-
Thank you! for the latest snapshot! It looks like Spatial Navigation works again!
Strange but true/bug or feature?
I believe that I have discovered SpeedDial Stacking!
SpeedDial Stacking apparently works in a similar manner as Tab Stacking: drag any SpeedDial tab and (oops!) drop it onto any other SpeedDial tab.
'Dial Stacking is just as finicky as Tab Stacking without click-select so you have to drop the 'Dial 'just right' or 'just wrong' before it will stack.
There are three main drawbacks to Stacked 'Dials in the current snapshot:
The text titles get garbled and intermingled
There is no popup graphic for the individual 'Dials
There is no way to select one stacked 'Dial so you can't pick the page that opensOn the bonus side:
It's very difficult to stack 'Dials
You can drag a stacked 'Dial off of/out of the stack and place it anywhere on the SpeedDial pageUnfixed bugs: Bookmark and Note editors are still broken.

Another nice snapshot. Thanks for the update, I'm looking forward to the beta arriving soon.
By the way, is it only me that has Vivaldi crashing when trying to view an SSL certificate information?
-
It didn't get fixed and started offering the Edit button for all Comments below this Comment but not the ones above it.

Some isseus regarding UI resizing, I usually make the whole ui like 70%
- Context menu's are out of place when right clicking on tabs, also it does not seem to take in account that the tabs are on the bottom.
- Site options menu is out of place, also it does not seem to take in account that the address bar is on the bottom and opens the options out of screen.
- Tab stacking goes really weird when having a resized ui, stacks/tabs are dissappearing and such. And it is impossible to place tabs in the blank spot that was caused by this until a restart of Vivaldi.
-
Don't believe there is officially any such thing as dial stacking. What there is, is folders to put dials in. When you "stack" two dials, technically, it should create a folder.
-
It's not just you. I tried to open the Certificate from this page and and - BLINK!
