Snapshot 1.0.212 - Mouse gestures with touchpad!
-
I really miss the chromium CTR+Shift+C Shortcut to grab an element in web inspector - for me probably the only brilliant feature in chrome
-
On my system, Alt + Scrollwheel works to switch tabs… but right click holding and scrollwheel doesn't anymore. Wheel on the tab bar still works though
-
I also hate this. And I consider it a bug, not a feature, because the browser is always suggesting me the wrong address. I try to go to the root domain or a site and the browser will not let me auto completing it for me something I don't like. Its almost impossible to browse to the home page of anything as it will always auto complete an url in that site you visited before which forces you to use the backspace to delete it. Very, very annoying.
-
I complained about this before as well. There is no visual cue when a tab is still loading or website because the white loading status is almost invisible in my screen. I changed the color with CSS but its gone after each update so I don't bother anymore.
-
Any news when detaching tabs will come? For people with multiple monitors, this is a critical feature. Letting you detach a tab to send it to another screen instead of having to open a new windows and browse to the website manually. All browsers can do this today.
-
That is funny. I have also tabs to the left and resized the tabs size exactly like your screenshot. So its exactly where the address bar starts.
-
That problem is not going to be solved until Google patches Chromium which is also still vulnerable today, probably because it will render tons of websites unavailable, so its not a simple solution:

Search bar is working again but not address bar. I cannot search anything or visit any address directly because hitting Enter does nothing and there is no Go button for clicking the action. It does not happen always but sometimes it just does not work.
-
If not, it should be.
I can confirm the bug (whereby newly-opened websites show in a small window upper-left and complete with scrollbars before they expand to fill the Vivaldi window) on my Vista32 system with ATi X1300 Pro graphics.
-
sorry to disappoint you, but I use address bar at the bottom. Just for this testing purpose I move it on the top just to be clear what I'm reporting anyway, tabs on the left are a must and have to be large, so I (have to) use tab stacking as well.
-
Confirmed!
Also at start Vivaldi do the same to window, show page as little square and window black.
Effect takes 2 sec and all pages back to normal.
Starts to happen for me in Snapshot 1.0.209.3 and this 1 do it to.W7 64bit - V 32bit

Is there any way to disable the mouse scroll tabs switching? If not, please let us decide if we want to use it.
-
Two big scrolling issues.
1. There seems to be a layer which contains clickable elements and selectable text, it does not scroll when I use the mouse wheel, but does scroll if I use the keyboard. I had to use it be able to make this comment. Iframes seem to be immune.
2. Tab switching using the mouse scroll wheel is reversed. Scrolling up moves a page to the right instead of to the left.A third problem is that the spellcheck dictionary seems incomplete. The word selectable is not in the dictionary.
The content block page option seems to allow ads to play in the background of Mashable.com but it hides the video making it impossible to stop.
-
Small bug. In bookmark manager folders show a nice folder icon till we use search to find said folder. Then the icon looks like a page icon and is difficult to discern from the background. Would like to see the same icon as before making the search.
-
I just move the mouse pointer away from the Tabbar.
-
Yes, I wondered what that icon did.
-
Within bookmark manager we cannot see the folder hierarchy after we have done a search. If I search for 'cat' and I have my bookmark folders set up properly the bookmark would be in "Order>Family>Genus>Species" or "Pets>Small Pets". I hope eventually Vivaldi will show the path to the bookmark; maybe in the ADDRESS column? The way it is now it's so difficult to identify where a folder is.
-
Once there's customizable mouse gesture and better font support (the Chinese characters are rendered really bad, though it is a problem associated with chromium not Vivaldi itself) I may jump from Firefox to Vivaldi.
After all, Opera 8.5 is the first non-IE browser I use which I miss so much.
