Snapshot 1.0.178.2 with more settings

That's because you can't change the type of an installation you already have. If you alter the path, the box should become available for selection.
-
We need extensions support.
I can't use a browser without ads-block and some other features.
So please introduce extensions support soon and Vivaldi will be my browser. -
I really like the new snapshot! It's much faster especially tab switching. The only thing is that the crashing is getting out of hand and I can't get anything done. It's crashing even while doing nothing even with a clean install. So got no choice than to revert to an older build for now. But I'm sure it'll be fixed eventually.
( I hope so
)
Actually I already requested highlighting of the tabs in tab stacks. Your problem is also mine. Sure there's an indicator above the stack, but that doesn't really tell which tab in the stack you're currently in especially if you have look-alike webpages in a stack. So a highlighted tab and the tab preview when hovered would be really helpful. -
I would really love that you guys first work on some basics, then continue with these amazing features. My work is 'on the go', from one client to another. And I can't use Vivaldi on my MBP when on battery. Vivaldi simply drains my battery way faster then Opera, not to mention super-energy efficient Safari. But even when on on power outlet Vivaldi uses way more CPU then other browsers, so it makes my laptop pretty hot.
I really hope to see some improvements on that part in near future. Other then that, you guys are doing amazing job, so please keep it up

I think it's been asked before, but one option is what is making me stick with opera12 and it's the simple "Bookmarks" menu. Why take up more screen space with a toolbar?
-
Really? How?
-
When I set to startup with homepage, It's not open maximized. And opens the sidebar, which I previously hidden. Just like when you just installed Vivaldi. I'd like to open the way I previously left.
-
I can't switch from General to other sections in the Setup window!
Can anybody confirm the problem? -
Ooops! I can't get the Chrome extensions directly! The Chrome Web Store refuses Vivaldi.
[EDIT] โฆonly in special cases refuses Vivaldi. Excuse me! -
Task manager and settings window only appear centered on monitor #1 as opposed to over the browser if the browser is in monitor #2. Not a problem but would be nice if they appeared over the parent form.

Try

Way better than adblock

The snapshot is faster, though I never actually thought tab switching was slow:).
I'm pretty sure there was a highlighting of tab in tab stacks in 1.0.167.2, unless I'm mistaken.
Glad to see I'm not alone on that problem -
Bug: Highlight some text and drag it a small distance then let go, the entire vivaldi window vanishes! The only way to get it back is to kill all vivaldi.exe instances and open from scratch.
Happens for me on Win 7 64bit with 32bit install on multiple machines.
-
I was hoping but nope, no UI crash.
Highlighted some text, objects, images and what-not just in case; dragged a short distance and released, even dropped onto another window and the desktop but no crash.
Maybe it's a 32-bit thing.
Win7 x64, Vivaldi x64.

Your comment just reminded that I had that option turned on. I turned it off and the problem was fixed, definitely seems to be related.

Does anyone know how to make the Bookmark Panel Container's maximum draggable width go wider than 61.8% of my maximized window's width ?
<snip>
If I could accomplish that, I would less need the less accessible full-window BM manager which is embedded in the Speed Dial page.</snip>
Very interesting proposal. Instead of widening the BM panel by dragging as in your suggestion, how about a button on the same line as the heading "Bookmarks" that would open it instantly to the desired width? And then put it back to the original width when done? Using the bookmark panel as a bookmark manager still has the problem of missing columns etc. but I can see how your suggestion would be useful.

"The settings window should now also start faster after a small tweak." Also, when clicking the V logo the menu pops out instantly now for me. Feels much better; getting rid of lag is very welcome.
-
Hmmm? Win 7 Professional 64bit with 32bit V here and I cannot reproduce the bug.
-
me too. I cannot switch between the tabs in the setting dialog (OSX 10.10.3)
