Snapshot 1.0.174.8-1 Startup settings and tab-switching performance
-
Great - now my main headache actually is something stupid: that I can't drag the window around by clicking in the (empty) tab area and drag. It is extremely fiddly to exactly get that small border where one can drag…
Thanks and cheers,
Tom

Noticed the same problem with tabs opening to the left side instead of the right. This happened to me when i left-clicked on links that open a new tab (as opposed to opening new tabs with middle click). Unfortunately, I too cannot reproduce the bug at will, as I have no idea what triggers it.

Why does Vivaldi always open in a Window if I startup from Home Page or Speed Dial? It should startup maximised if that's how it was when I closed it.
-
It's getting there, the performance is certainly better than before, but not quite yet. But I want to believe that things are on the right track now
-
Opening a Page from Opera doesn't work if I use the Startup from last time option, but that does remember that Vivaldi was maximised.
-
What do you mean by "useful"? Vivaldi already has tab stacking working, with tab tooltips for all stacked tabs and tiling for viewing of multiple pages at the same time. I'd say this is pretty useful, although they really could put more features into it, like all tabs generated from a stacked tab open in the same group. But what is your idea of useful?
-
Bug:
Right click on any tab and select "Close Other Tabs".
It closes all the tabs including the current one.

Req!
Single click in bookmarks! -
- Videos from gospodari.com not starting.
- Can't open SpeedDials with mouse scroller (button 3)
- Settings Dialogue opens in wrong position (in dual/second monitor) loads on the first one, not in the browser centre for example.
- There's no option to disable tab resizing preview.
- Inspect Element isn't fixed in the browser.
- code.visualstudio.com videos not working too!
- Youtube player is broken, when video is on full-screen then it's hard to show the player options….
-
not sure if anyone mentioned it before but:
bug: while loading some pages (can't say exactly what can be the problem. If HTTP/S or what kind of protocol - as SPDY2) just and an "error" occurs (the Tony appears for a while) but in a second it loads the page fine without needing to hit "reload" button.will try to do a screenshot of the error message or find some more (this bug is here for a bit longer. This has NOT started with this build).
W8.1 x64 with a few last x32 builds auto-updated -
I'm on mac right now. Not sure, either the restart after the update takes a longs time or the window I had open before the upgrade did not open before I told V to open a new window. 26 tabs open. Nothing lost, but I was uncertain for a while.

Hi Espen.
-
You/we have the Best browser out there not only for this main reason for me: Developers listens, giving questions. And then, based on responses, developing the software. We dont have to wait for something for two years, Vivaldi have it in the matter of weeks, and not years. Thanks for that.
-
We all pop up sooner or later, don't we
Well, looks like, on MAC, that the saved window (I have only tested with one) does not open before I try to open a new window after startup.
-
You can drag more easily using the Native Window option, that creates a title bar on the top (although it doesn't show anything). It should make your life easier until Vivaldi lets you drag the window by the method you described.
-
Req! Single click in bookmarks!
I hope they will make single/double clicks optional. I've started to appreciate double-clicks.
-
The address field is still popping open periodically in this build.
-
I hate double clicks! Don't have the time

100%. This is the recipe for success for any business: customer feedback. Thousands of people will certainly be able to come up with lots of great ideas - many more than even a brilliant team of developers (not that this stops said developers from coming up with ideas on their own). The more Vivaldi solicits suggestions the better their software will become.
-
New build installed, and I am quite happy with it.
Now the only things Vivaldi needs before I switch to it as my primary browser are the ability to right-click and insert a note, some fixes for notes handling (I can't close a folder in the notes once I've opened it), private tabs/windows, and an ad blocker (granted I can supplement with Adguard if needed).
