TP3 is here!

Thanks for great job so far!
You should focus a liitle bit on performance and responsiveness now.
Also a few requests from me
- session manager (like in O12)
- HiDPI support
- possibility to unroll tabs in stack
- I don't like autocomplete's delay when typing www adress
- option to set global zoom level
- tab preview should has a little longer delay
BTW: Is it idnended that settings window size isn't remembered when I change it?
Cheers!

https://code.visualstudio.com videos not working too!
-
not beta? with a lot of bugs , inconsistencies, how do you name to this? For me this is a beta!
-
only in beta version there are bugs. don't be vivaldiaholic
-
So…..IMPORTANT IMPORTANT
It appears Beta, next major step, may include email. This is kewl, if true, BUT:
PLEEEEEEEEZE make sure that when email is included it is installed in such a way that Windows can recognize it as an email client, and can set it as the MAPI client. To to otherwise is simply to ensure that no user will ever be able to rely on Vivaldi mail alone, but will always have to install and use, in addition, some other space-wasting, time-eating, efficiency-destroying, file-duplicating email client for the system to use as the mailto: client.
I hate, hate, hate, hate this. It took forever (literally over a decade) for Opera to finally do this right, but once they did, I was completely spoiled. I was able to uninstall and delete space-hogging files from every other email client. I was always able to see, in my default email client, not only everything I had ever received, but everything I had ever sent. I am currently stuck with a damnable dual-client setup, and I cannot wait to get rid of it.
PLEEEEEEEEZE Vivaldi mail developer(s) take this into account. Your poor users need a MAPI client. We really, really do. So please don't let us down.

1st to say thanks for good works for developers… we love you...
2nd. please on email have also combine with a built in reader rss. (like old opera)
3rd the the tooltip on back button still not fixed, if having second monitor, still show on the another screen. AND tab tooltip also still not fixes still have a white border bottom on them (tab).
4. please include a private tab for next version dev.. release.
5. last but not least... hooray... for sync every thing on next release.... hopes the next steps is sync on mobile version also (if exist) ... -
@jon:
Thanks. Make sure to give us feedback on where we can do better. We will continue to work on making the UI as flexible as possible. Our goal is to make a browser that adapts to your needs.
Hi Jon, first thank you as many have said for giving us hope for future with a good browser. I am one more very happy old Opera user who is joyful you have made Vivaldi. One big request I have - and I've worked on drawings and explanations I hope to post in the forum - is to have the option to place the address field directly above the content area (even below the bookmarks bar). This is how I have it in O12 and I miss it. Thanks again for all your efforts for us.

Big thanks to Jon and the whole Vivaldi Team.
My first time with Opera was at v.5.01 and It was an awesome progress till v.12.
Then the Chrome based version started and my dissapointment was huge.
But they made many promises to come closer to the old one. None were redeemed till now.
Then I saw an article about Vivaldi on a online pc magazine and it sounds like music in my ear :). I am now following the progress since then and I am using Vivaldi as default now.
Every weeks and months were improvments and I have the feeling that the devs are making the browser for us. Also I like the close communication between the devs and the community. Go on Vivaldi, you are on the right path.Ok, and sorry for my bad english, its not my native language.
-
Congrats on your team's excellent progress with Vivaldi with TP3, Jon.
I've used Opera since 1999, and am very happy to see you've returned to offer your vision of amazing browser design, performance and energy-use efficiency…again (after a short break).
Please consider adding a few enhancements that include, swiping gestures to move back & forward, pinch-to-zoom, and auto-hiding the tab bar if only one tab is open. Keyboard shortcuts were amazing 5-15 years ago, but I'm addicted to fluid gestures on my trackpad in OS X now...
Looking forward to each new release. Keep up the good work...!

Win 7 64 Bit 32 bit Vivaldi 8 Gig
Jon:
I praise you having the fortitude to do this again…I remember when how HAPPY I was when Opera 4 came about then more versions....thought it was BY far the best browser on the market then. In later versions the workflow was so smooth, tried to get friends to use it but I think as how DOS got sold by good marketing not best program Gates sold it and Opera was beyond most people, most are followers.
I was SO glad to see you were at it again and I was willing to PAY ( as we used to do, now everyone expect everything for free) for a GREAT browser.Consider that if things get tight I think you'd be surprised I HATE APPS I'd rather have one runs all.
As far as slow I have an OLD laptop with so many patches and updated drivers because Alienware hasn't updated the BIOS in a LONG time. installed an SSD and except for loading is 32 bit Vivaldi is reasonably fast. I agree there are too many variables involved to put your finger on one...it won't do any better than the slowest bottleneck!!
I'm no longer a programmer and things have passed me by but I TRY to keep up but on Tech Talk on TWIT TV Steve Gibsons "Security Now" EXCELLENT program! You may want to or others watch it. He commented on Security and said that IE and all Chrome browsers too accepted (I think it was HV certs or something about security) and the only one that did it correctly was FF. Just a watch out.
Good luck you've done more in 3 month and have listened more than Opera did in the last two years. So just don't let peoples impatience bother you.
-
Thank you for your work guys! This browser has improved a lot in the last few months. What i miss the most are enlarging all page at certain percent function , adblocking and smooth scroll. I saw sync was on the way too! Good job! By the way are u planning to support chrome extentions?
-
Love this browser, keep up the good work…thank you much appreciated
Can anyone confirm should the Content Blocker on Page Actions hold every time Vivaldi opens. Mine has to be reset each session
-
I hope you guys can implement the "Close tabs on the right" when right-clicking on a tab, like with Opium or Chrome. It would be really helpful.
-
That was their plan since the beginning.
-
I really appreciate what all you've done these past few months with the browser. A huge difference from the first TP!
A hope we come to the point Vivaldi won't be needing too much extensions that can really affect performance. What extensions can do, Vivaldi can do better natively.
I haven't had this fun reporting bugs since the early days of Opera.
I wish you and the team the best of luck! ^_^b

Jesus, please read what it is:
A techincal preview! That's Pre-Beta! -
I accidentally zoomed in Vivaldi GUI after messing with num pad buttons, how do I restore it back to normal?
-
Yes I agree… I'd like to have a simple folder with all my speed dials thumbs and be able to change them how I want without having to handle with databases, checksum etc...
-
Thanks for your kind words and support!
Vivaldi is really built for you! The goal is to have the feature set and the flexibility so that you can get the browser to work in just the right way for you. It takes time to add all those options, but you can see where we are going with that.
Cheers,
Jon. -
On mine, the UI just randomly zoomed out for some reason. Had to delete the Vivaldi data folder on my Mac to get it back to normal again.
