Snapshot (1.0.161.2) more bugfixing

So you are kinda telling us: "go download it elsewhere instead"?
I always prefer to download all my stuff at the site of the developer, since it's the most secure place to download it, and I also push its google ranking by visiting the site and also sending clicks to it.
I also prefer to send bug reports to the devs themself.
But it sounds, like both things are wrong and I should download my stuff on some collection sites and also moan about bugs there…Nice way to go folks! shakeheads
(first post on this post by me, which is really disappointed by some of the Vivaldi team members)

I believe I replied to a post but can't see it now. Has this happen to others before?

Dear Aronand !
Thanks for the clarification… and also thanks for putting a "V" in you avatar !
This way I'll instantly know that you're probably a Vivaldi Employee...I wish other employees would also put a small "V" in their avatars...

To be honest this was expected. If you read the Opera Desktop blog there where hardly any people from Oslo writing there anymore. Most of the coding team was moved (outsourced) it seems to Poland and this explains as well the very unstable development both features and lack of direction.
I knew since over a year the Oslo team had little to no interaction with the new Opera browser. The new team added one thing one month, removed it the next month. Its like they where playing with that browser and some things don't make sense in terms of feature or where badly tested in terms of user interaction. This is far but very far from Nordic countries quality in products which also translates to software. The devil is the in the little details.
My wish is that Vivaldi will take off and maybe you can hire some of the guys eventually. That would be amazing. You can save those guys and help them to work in a product they love again. Maybe in the end this is a good thing. I don't think they where happy at Opera since along time.

Some weeks back it was happening a lot.
-
Because you do not write a shortcut you do it at once. You can hit CTRL+SHIFT+V as one key press, while CTRL+V -> Enter requires two steps.
Also in Presto Opera you could use CTRL+SHIFT+V without the need of focus in address bar.
-
Maybe I was not clear about this. Enable this option in settings - Quit Vivaldi - Start Vivaldi again… no native look, just missing window controls and first tab over Vivaldi button. But with Ctrl + N... everything works perfect.
-
I was critical of the Neu Opera and hope that wasn't against policy.
-
This is fixed in the latest builds, will be in the next update.
-
I've never seen anyone taken to task for it.
-
It's still useless for it's main purpose: browsing w/o having to touch the keyboard.
If I have my hands over the keyboard makes very little difference to press three keys at once or in two strokes.
-
For all who want to use the Naive Window frames:
- Make sure that you have only one window open before you open the settings.
- Close the settings before you close the main window.
- Restart the browser immediately after the settings window is closed or else there might be some bugs waiting for you if you don't.
-
Not if it was like Presto Opera, where there's no need to focus the address bar.
And there are the people who use the browser without touching the mouse.
-
You mean things like those?
DNA-36570 Address field’s corners ain’t round enough
(Quote from Operas latest changelog)
Such "bugs" are not mentioned in the changelogs here.

Tyvm to the team for keeping up the 64 bit builds… Noob question:- What's the criteria level for it to get out from "experimental" status though? Just curious.

Any chance we get some performance improvements soon? (e.g. making opening tabs and loading the speed dial area faster)
-
bug: 16+ rows of speed dials folders leads to the text overlapping at bottom
bug: when you "use as speed dial" on multiple bookmark folders, the folder name incorrectly appear in speed dial tab This is actually a refresh problem. If you restart your speed dial tab again, the folder naming problem is fixed
bug: favicon doesn't appear in folders in bookmark bar
bug: couldn't use middle mouse button to open bookmarks at bookmark bar inside bookmark folders
bug: adding new bookmark to speed dial, only half the preview image appear
bug: Inconsistency. In settings you use control-shift-v for "paste and go" for keyboard shortcuts, If you right click the url there control-shift-v listed as paste as plain text
bug: can not add new folders to bookmark from the bookmark panel via right click context menu. Right click a bookmark on the bookmark panel and select "New Folder"
bug: speed dial tab need to remember last speed dial folder it was using
bug:- Middle mouse button stop working on bookmarks if you have more than 5 bookmark folder expanded in panel. I simply closed some bookmark folders and middle mouse started working again
bug:- odd bevourior in speed tab when adding new bookmark folders "use as speed dial". Try adding all the bookmarks folder to speed dial, then as you delete the speed dial folders 1 at a time, you notice the speed dial folders don't match what just got deletedfeature request: sort bookmarks automatically in alphabetical order with folders at top
feature request: paste and go for url address instead of paste as plain text (redundant) -
creating preview for speed dials is still extremely buggy. Sometimes the preview won't load even if you try to reload it multiple times
-
Very minor bug: the "save file" dialog doesn't remember the folder you saved the last item to, it always opens to the home directory by default. If I want to save a bunch of things to the same directory all right in a row, this is a bit annoying.
Another annoyance (that you are probably already aware of): "open link in new tab" focuses that tab immediately. I would prefer it to not focus the tab or have the option.
Keep up the great work!
