Snapshot (1.0.161.2) more bugfixing

Sad news for Opera guys. Although, I believe, it was inevitable.
-
My primary holdbacks for not using Vivaldi (Ghostery and getadblock.com didn't work) have been resolved.
I cannot tell you how excited I am to join the party! Great work! Thanks!!!
-
Yeah, no surprise on the Opera front here…
If there is no love in the pudding, the pudding goes dead.
I would even have paid for continued Opera 12.x development as I did in the olden days - it's still my main browser until Vivaldi has Mail integrated (and hopefully a calendar).
As sad as it is for the Opera staff, hopefully they will be able to invest their time into something more worthwhile now. Best of luck to everybody! But this fiasko makes me even more happy about the whole Vivaldi movement.
Thank you!
Tom

Anyway the hideous one key shortcut on quickreply field of some forums is still there.
And now should be about time tho have the paste & go and the GO button available, should be something not so time consuming for the devs but something really appreciated by the users.

couple of things
-probably well know but still…I can't move window by click and drag on tabs empty space if it is in tab level...only click above tabs upper border works-notes: if you click and hold key in notes, it will crash Vivaldi eventually… memory is never released...observing process in win task manager, one Vivaldi process from ~50MB jumped very quickly (in 20-30 MB steps) to above 700MB and crashed V. Reproducible 100% on my side. If you don't reach limit at once, repeating same thing with another note will...mem just accumulate
-
I already did….
What happens here is that I lose the Minimize, Maximize and Close icons in the upper, right corner of the window.
Not what I expected … -
Thanks!
I have just a small remark, if it's not already on your to-do list:
It would be nice if the view scrolled to the top when changing pages in Settings, because it could be disorienting as it is, seeing a random scrolled-in part of a setting pane (and have to scroll up anyway).= = = = =
As to the news, sad for the Opera team. Just removed Opera 28 (after months of shrinking excitement), and while it was snappier UI-wise than Chrome (on Linux) and I did enjoy parts of it, the team's lack of direction could be strongly felt, especially after their original speed-dial-only, bookmark-less vision crashed and burned. It turned out that the new defining feature would become… bookmarks, with the 'visual' implementation. Ouch.
I just saw that Chrome 42 implemented a similar visual bookmark manager that is much cleaner and has optional auto-organization. Ouch again.
What was left for Opera, ought to compete mostly on UI?
Just as they were rolling out sync, and finally solved the speed dial / bookmark disconnect.. sad. While Vivaldi (at least the public builds) is a baby, I'm excited as you evidently hired better UI designers. The interface being implemented with React is also a promising fact.
Good luck on filling Opera's void, and beyond!

Oh, so that's why it says "This setting affects newly opened windows only" in settings…
-
Yes, the key combination works, now we need the function in DX button mouse.
And if possible can drag tabs directly in the side panel of bookmarks. -
Confirmed… For like the 10th time !
at this point I always give up in the first release date (I once tried like 7 times in a row and all of the downloads failed midway...) and then try my luck several days later... -
Yea it worked after 4 restarts… Still wouldn't call it native windows decorations at least not on vista.
-
You listed VB5265 twice! Great update, though.
-
Vista and XP were unified (by Chromium). So they share the same XP blue… Ugly, but who still uses Vista anyway?
-
Please bring back the old style address bar with drop down button for typed urls and disable this annoying auto complete.
-
native look makes first tab covers V-button…and there are no win controls on it (after restart, I'm talking about starting window...descendent's have native look and visible V-button)
-
To be honest I doubt that this rearrangement means fail and wither. But it's fact that coders are cheaper in outside of nordic countries. I hoped that Vivaldi and Opera would compete openly and public just like couple of F1 leaders earlier did and give good and positive vibes to entire community.
-
We are looking into the issue, should be fixed in not too long
-
I have still hope for Opera but still I would like a way to import settings/sessions/bookmarks from Opera 28/29/30. (30 Developer is still my main browser). Import offers only Chrome.
-
NSL = Never Stop Loading, SD means Speed Dial.

Frankly I don't understand the meaning of your reply.
Did you realize that CTRL+V –> ENTER or CTRL+SHIFT+V are both three keys "short"cuts ?
CTRL+SHIFT+V is almost useless. It's only good to customize a mouse button, to workaround (temporarily, I hope) the problem.
