Snapshot (1.0.156.2): Feature polish and tons of bug fixes
-
I was about to post in my customisation thread how to make the Vivaldi window title be the page title, but just saw you addressed this on this snapshot.
-
Mouse gestures were the reason for me to use Opera in the past.
Now they are broken (Kubuntu 12.04) in Vivaldi for quite a long time…
When do we get them back??
Besides of that Vivaldi is a tremendous piece of softwar. Keep going! -
Regarding the SD thumbnails I see that they aren't working on SD subfolders and if Speed Dial folder is renamed to something else.
Also, in the first run, the Speed Dial folder should be named accordingly to the translation given to the Speed Dial page, if it's translated, like in the Italian case (SD, was translated in Opera 12, we translated it in Vivaldi too).

- If we try to select a part of the URL, it doesn't work, because the http part appears when you start selecting, moving the whole string, and thus, changing the place of what you wanted to select.
Click into the adress bar or press F8
Then press rightArrow before selecting or click on the highlighted URL to deselect it first.BTW:
Selecting link text on web pages is tricky:
Start the mouse movement slightly above or below the place where you want to start your selection, move into the link text and select until end. -
Just noticed, the "per site" menu setting, usually available clicking on the left of the address field, is gone in this build.
-
What about typing the name of a new folder? For me it's as slow as ever and characters still get eaten.
-
We are working on fixing gestures on non-windows platforms
-
Yeah there is still a bug there we are currently trying to figure out
-
wfm, does it happen on all sites?
-
Vivaldi crashed for you when reloading sd?
-
We improved, by not saving for every char.. But we will do a more complete fix later. That requires some more work.
-
That one looks like a false alarm, after logging off from windows and logging back on, the per site menu is back (btw yes, was missing in any site, just the site info were present)
-
I did not write the situation correctly. The dying is not process, but is thumbnail-generate function.
1. Start Vivaldi.
2. Reload speeddials one by one.
3. After some thumbnails are generated, the next reload will not work well.
4. Restart Vivaldi.
5. Back to 2. -
Thank you for replying. I can't wait for you to mature this browser to a first stable version. When that happens I'll be setting up lots of family members with it. I use bookmarks intensely so for me this is one of the places I hope to see a lot of attention. Thank you again.

Suggestion :
Don't make 3 different shortcuts for the Tiling => Make 1 shortcut which cycles between the 3 different styles.
It's easier to remember and also much easier to use…
-
and just for the sake of "Not Forgetting The Performance Issues", I'm gonna go ahead and drop this GIF in every Blog post until they are fixed…
Please don't hate ! I just want to make sure that this issue is in the highlight :
The Issues :
1. Tab Title not changing unless clicked on.
2. Very Slow reaction time after clicking on the tab (you can see the click event by the yellow circle it makes)
3. Clicking on the Panel Trigger is so slow…The System (Which Vivaldi was run on) :
a piece of Trash! but ChrOpera and Chrome don't have the mentioned problems !
and Thanks for the Great Work as always…
-
First of all, thanks for the dedicated work. It's really a pleasure to see Vivaldi shaping up!
3 small UI issues (OSX 10.10.x):
1. Some tab titles do not update in time, e.g. Twitter's unread count.
2. (tabs on the right) Drag & Drop indicator when reordering tabs is missing
3. (tabs on the right) It's impossible to stack tabs -
Yeah, that's known. VB-5144 if you want to watch out for it in changelogs.
-
I just noticed another glitch. Opening a new tab via Cmd+T does open two tabs instead of one.
-
I'm not trying to work around a bug, I know how to do it. I'm just reporting bugs.
