Certin extensions not working properly (Video DownloadHelper and FVD Speed Dial)

  • Hi,
    Just started a few days on this new and great browser. Since i was using Chrome it was a easy for me to to use this browser and install all the extensions that i'm used to from chrome. Unfortunately here the problems start. My custom speed dial will not start on new tab (even if i did try to force it by using "vivaldi://newtab", but that just gives me a google search page and only when i go to that link while the my custom speed dial activate), I have a video downloading extension, but every file i download has a weird name to ie (s1727383 or video_aki3nef8n349f and so on). I have tested this extension in firefox as well to see maybe it was a problem with the extension/addon, but it worked fine there. I've tested several video downloaders and all hade the same result.
    So to some it up, i wish to know how to make my custom speed dial work as intended (have it activated when i open a new tab) and have the video download extension read the properly the video title ("How to make a pizza" and not "video_skjeu5j38b").
    I can provide screenshots if needed, but i thought it wasn't. I await any questions that may help resolve my problem :smile:

  • Vivaldi Translator

    @MikeSnap
    For custom newtab page:
    Use chrome://newtab as Homepage and or Tabs Specific page on Vivaldi settings.

    I have no idea what happen to Video DownloadHelper.

  • @MikeSnap Regarding Video Download Helper see

    Use fast video downloader or flash video downloader which works well.

    Unfortunately it yield the same result. I ended up trying GetThemAll.
    I made two screenshots, one from Chrome and one from Vivaldi. I think it has something to do with how Vivaldi sees/reads video formats, as it displays the video to be downloaded as "all files" while Chrome automatically sets it to MP4 format.
