Scrollbar width and pre-load page color

I've got two requests that would make a big difference for me.
The first is the ability to widen the vertical scrollbar. I find it too hard to click it with the mouse. Maybe that is a desktop manager / theme thing (I'm on Linux), but a browser setting would make changing it easy.
The second is the large splash of white after clicking on a link, before the new page loads. During daytime, this is not a big problem. But at night, with lights low and the eyes adjusted accordingly, that bright white is blinding. I would like to see it toned down quite a bit.

Please see my CSS hack to make the scrollbar wider. This was on Windows but should be very similar on Linux.

You need to change the CSS file. It's a bit of a learning curve. Here are two threads explaining how:

@g_bartsch I might get to it someday, but an interface solution would be nice. I bet there are more than a few people who would opt for wider scrollbars.

I believe so too.
It has helped me immensely because I have a disability and less mouse control than 99.99% of users. I can pick a large target easier than a small one.

It would sure be nice if they build in such functionality. I also removed the space on either side of the scrollbar tab and it looks much cleaner. Basically perfect for me.
