A (optionally?) smarter "Find in Page" feature.

Some simple pattern matching, like the "usual" ? and * for one or many characters (all the way up to go full regexp)
Simple logic, namely
– OR : to allow, eg. "center OR centre", "mp3 OR ogg"
-- NEAR : as in "Elizabeth NEAR Richard". This is a soft-AND, as in "Elizabeth AND Richard in the same paragraph, or so"

Allow editing of context menus (and all menus).

Currently, Copy to note is in the wrong place, so it is far too easy to add a note when you meant to search for something. In Opera 12.17 Copy to note, is below Copy, and in a separate group on the context menu. In Vivaldi, it is above Search for "text string" and far away from Copy.

Since everyone will have their own preferred position depending on what they do the most, it is best to allow editing of menus, but I think the default should be changed too.

An idea I'm requesting a long time: the bookmark importing tool copy the "description" field too. The last change about this part was add support to bookmark nicknames. I need it because I am an old Vivaldi version because the recent ones don't import the bookmark descriptions and I have important things using that field. Copy the bookmarks file to new version doesn't work, because I can't add none bookmarks, I dunno why happens it then the only solution is this.
And it should support the options to bookmarks/folders that are marked to appear as bookmark bar and/or Speed Dial.

Are bookmark separators supported in 1.5?

No one will know until it is released. It's definitely a useful feature that I miss from Opera 12.17.

As a workaround, bookmark you home page, and enter —————————— as the title.

For now, it helps. I miss it too, I hope to see it in any future version.

! I'm requesting a "Mute/Unmute" button when right-clicking a tab. IM's often use just a short notification sound to alert you of new messages and the sound button then pops up. But too often the sound is so short so that the icon is gone by the time i drag my mouse over there to mute the tab. Then I have to sit and wait with my mouse hovering over where the sound icon should appear, and wait for another sound until i can mute. It also might happen when I know a tab is going to make sound, but want to mute it before that happens. A little button for "Mute/Unmute" would fantastically solve all of these problems!
! Another thing - when clicking "inspect" in the browser window, the size of the developer tools window will match whatever you're running the browser in. Meaning if you run Vivaldi in fullscreen and click inspect, it will open developer tools in full screen. My personal preference would be always opening developer tools in non-fullscreen (window-mode or whatever it's called), but this isn't really the problem. The problem is when developer tools opens in fullscreen, it's really unnecessary hard to resize it to window mode. There is no "X" or "resize" button showing, even when the mouse is hovering at the top. This means the only way (i know of) to resize developer tools is to enter misson control/exposé, hover the desktop where developer tools is in fullscreen, and click the resize/minimize window button that appears. Which is cumbersome to say the least.
! Edit: It's also not possible to close the developer tools window with OS specific hotkeys for closing tabs/windows (in my case "cmd + w"). It doesn't matter if developer tools is in fullscreen or window mode, the only way to close it is by clicking "x" with the mouse. A fix for this would be awesome.

Transfering user profile!!!

It is tragic that I am using Vivaldi at work, but if I need same user profile with passwords, searches, notes, settings already at Home on second Vivaldi portable installation, I cannot, because it is another PC and only a few information can be imported - no passwords, no notes, no searches. It is tragic.

And no, only sync is NOT solution, I don!t want sync with servers my passwords or links to internal systems at work. Copy&Paste files OR possibility to export&import of everything.

When i access bookmarks via the bookmark bar it would be helpful to see the full name of the saved bookmark when hovering over it via mouse or controls.
Actually it would be great at vivaldi://bookmarks/ too, because there is currently no way to see the full name of the saved bookmark except when you wanna change it.

An option where you can choose to either see the actual title of opened tabs or when you saved them as bookmarks to see the title of the saved bookmark entry would be very helpful.

First of all, thanks for making Vivaldi. Hopefully one day it can reclaim Opera's place and oust Firefox as my main browser.

I have the following suggestions / improvements:

Stop Messing with the Address Bar URL

So it's nice to have an option to simplify the address by only showing the domain name for those who want it, but this should be turned off by default. It doesn't make sense to me that on one hand you claim to be making a browser for power users, yet on the other hand your users are too stupid to understand a URL.

When I have an address, such as "http://somedomain.com/page with spaces.html", then do no change it to "http://somedomain.com/page with spaces.html". If I copy that and send it to someone, what do you think is going to happen? Nothing good, that's what. Just stop messing with the address!

Address Bar Auto-completion

When I start typing in the address bar, the auto-completion based on pages I've previously visited isn't as good as it could be. For example, if I were to type:

goo

then I might want it to suggest (based on my previous history):

google.co.uk

Instead, what I actually get is something like:

google.co.uk/somesearchtermthatyounolongerwantdisplaying/andnow/youhave/todelete/all/of/this

It would be great to suggest the domain, but leave off the page or directory as often you just want the site, rather than a specific page. You could then show the specific page suggestion underneath in the list of suggestions.

'Open link in background tab' Right Click Menu Item Placement

Please make this the first option. I moved away from Opera when they created a new browser with no features and have since been using Firefox. Having this menu item be the third item down really messes with my muscle memory.

Shortcuts while Editor is Focused

While I type this message, if I press CTRL+B (which in many HTML rich text editors will be the shortcut to make something bold), the bookmark window opens. This is really annoying! While focus is in a text box or text field, then please disable all keyboard shortcuts.

Zoom Level

I know that Firefox zooms into a page to make it bigger, but even compared to Chrome, Vivaldi's display of pages is tiny! I'm using a Full HD monitor and find it hard to read pages when they are at 100% zoom in Vivaldi. I would suggest that you look into increasing the default page size / scaling.

Tab to New Window

It would be great to be able to move tabs into a new window or between existing windows.

Hi!

Is there possibility of having built in translator in the future. That's one major thing I've been using chrome at all. Sadly it was removed for Vivaldi. At first I thought that's something google keeps to itself since most forks don't have it, but then I noticed that one fork (Slimjet) has it.

I would love to see current session autosave like in firefox. In case of browser or pc crash there is a way to recover entire session or accidentally closed windows of current session.

In short: Please take Opera's bookmark bar as an example. It has all three requested features implemented and has in my humble opinion the best bookmark bar of all popular browsers.
