@AshtonPseudonymEckert
Hm, I cant reproduce this.
Changed location to Tokyo with VPN, change UI laguage to Japanes I got the translate icon.
It need about 20 seconds and some scrolling to get the whole page translated.Maybe it is offtopic to speak about the behave of single pages, I have no idea.
-
@mib2berlin
You darling!
So why is "বাΰ¦ΰ¦²ΰ¦Ύ" translated as "γγ"?
οΌWhat you enter here is originally βγγ³γ¬γ«θͺβ.οΌ
Also, to add one more thing, using a VPN to change geolocation has nothing to do with this matter.
Because the background to this problem is an LLM problem, not a query location problem.PS:
Your following statements are insulting.

It's frustrating to be called off-topics until I follow Aliaksei Rudak's wishes.

That's why I decided to create this thread and gather all your feedbacks in one place.
modedit: language. Please do not call others liars
-
@AshtonPseudonymEckert Please DO NOT call people trying to help you liars, it's very rude.
Just point out the exact place on the page where the wrong translation occurs, and what it's supposed to be.
-
@AshtonPseudonymEckert
I call myself as offtopic, call me a liar is insulting.
Just testing if this is reproducible to save @alrudak some time.
I stop this now. -
@luetage Yes, I have. But it's better for community to ask that feature as a request in the tracker, to make Vivaldi team understand that translation feature is popular among users.
-
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
If you found incorrect translation in browser, please go to[https://lingvanex.com/translate/] and check that your phrase is translated the same as in Vivaldi browser. Sometimes the problems can be with HTML parser in browser and not with translator itself

@alrudak Something I've noticed when translating Japanese to English is that spaces are unexpectedly added at the beginning of new lines. Take as an example this simple input:
γγγ«γ‘γ―γ γγγͺγγ
I would expect this to be translated as:
Hello. Goodbye.
Instead, Lingvanex always gives a result like this:
Hello. Goodbye.

γγγͺγγThanks! I was able to reproduce it, will fix that.

Hello. The translator works more or less well, but it fails when it comes to pop-up windows. It doesn't read them unless you tap the translator to return to English and then change languages, then it translates them.
Google Translate does this automatically.

@YUGULO I think this is related to browser and not to translator itself. Please create a feature request so Vivaldi them can do that.

but it fails when it comes to pop-up windows.
Sounds like VB-85532 "The main (background) page is translated, but the overlay/popup is not."
Edit - Sorry, that bug is solved?? -
You could say it translates whenever it wants. It's a bit of a pain with pop-up windows.
Vivaldi:
Chrome:
With Chrome, you don't have to press F5 to reload and translate; with Vivaldi, you have to do it frequently. If it reloads, then yes, in that case, Vivaldi translates correctly.

@alrudak Good insertion of Brazilian Portuguese as a language option would be good, but I can perfectly understand (European) Portuguese. It's not a big problem but it would be interesting to have. Oh and a compliment: The translator is working today very well seen when it arrived in Vivaldi. Before I still felt the need to install an additional translation extension, but today I only use yours. It's really good.

@kalebepalaciof Thanks a lot for feedback! It motivates to work on it
-
I'm glad that you has been openly exposed to users, it's first hand feedback and some praise as well as face up with some negative attitudes.
I'm not a translations hard-user as I can do it myself quite well, but in the times I've used it I've noticed a while ago how the translations have gained in accuracy as well as speed.
I hope this Lingvanex-Vivaldi agreement will be maintained as it's a 'win-win'; we get info from other language webpages and you get a test rig with which to refine the accuracy of translations more quickly.
I appreciate your service and work, and may the force be with you.
