Better, faster results in the address field – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3592.3
-
How do I access typed urls? I use them all the time. If I wanted to use omnibox I would have used Chrome, Old style address bar was the reason I used Vivaldi. This new omnibox needs to add support for drop down list for typed urls.
-
@saudiqbal Open
vivalsdi:experiments
, enable "Disable Chromium Omnibox" and restart. -
The missing dropdown for typed urls is a bug simple as that, and will probably be fixed in the next or an upcoming Snap.
I don't like the Omnibox either.
But remember - we are Snapshot testers.
Our task is to give as much constructive feedback as possible on the new feature and report bugs where we can find them.The impression I get is they're not backing down from this change And if all Snapshot testers disable the Omnibox they won't get the needed feedback.
-
When I use Vivaldi I don't use the omnibox, so much I care
. Btw what is so bad and different, looks good to me, the url has a different color -the "highlight" one from the Theme-, yay (was it always like that?). /hides.
-
I do really like the new Omnibox, great work guys but I found something that I don't completely understand.
Based on this omnibox tool, should the suggestions be sorted by relevance ? In my case, for some reason the
Search Suggestions
go over theHistory
items even though they have much less relevance

Well, the new "omnibox" removed this completely:
There's no ability to choose what the address bar drop down shows anymore with omnibox.

Hey, I just updated Vivaldi Snapshot and the change for the autocomplete and drop-down suggestions is a huge regression for me. Vivaldi 7.0's drop-down suggestions worked better for me. Please bring back the old drop-down suggestions, or at least provide an option to re-enable it. Thank you!

Yes, and after testing it, better restore the old behaviour. End of test.

@iAN-CooG
This is a preview with many features missing and bugs, that's the reason to publish it.
If you don't want to test use stable, really.
I bet we get a new snapshot soon with more features, fixes. -
@iAN-CooG
Sorry, was a bit harsh but the team need feedback.
Not interested, disabled, is not.
I leave it enabled and use other install for serious work. -

ehm, and my feedback is that the new "feature" is not my liking as it is so I disabled it to get back to normal behaviour. I'll wait for more fixes.
What else do you want me to say about it? -
@Tealing Oh, this sounds pretty grotesque lol... at least they haven't butchered it for Quick Commands (what I use), yet?
-
@thernandez03: You see the df (default) column? It’s red/not-allowed for your history item. This indicates that you either haven’t visited it enough times, not recently, or that you’ve not typed that query and selected that item. The next time you do, it should start remembering it. It should adapt to what you type and do over time, but it can’t read your mind from day one.

What happened to the dropdown button?
-
Please make Tabs bigger/larger like in Edge, Chrome & Firefox. Tabs are too small even for my 14" laptop screen. My eyes are not weak, but Tabs are really too small.
Second, I still don't see "simple scrollbar" in any website except settings window. Thanks -
@christianthm: Do you have "regular" or "compact" enabled under Appearance -> User Interface Density?
-
@bushtukker: Out of curiosity, how do you use the dropdown button?
-
@atlemo: I use/like "Regular" and "compact" is even more smaller.
Second, I still don't see "simple scrollbar" in any website except settings window. Thanks -
@atlemo I use it to address my most recent visited websites. In all honesty, it's one of the main features of Vivaldi for me.
