The Official Vivaldi.net Bug Thread (Not for Vivaldi browser!)
-
Language setting should be coupled to the account/login.
The erroneous "Remeber me" behavior is already known.
In this context, the selected language should be firmly assigned to the user after registration. Background:
If I get a mail-notification for subscribed threads and call it from the mail then the language is nevertheless English (default), even though I was recognized as user and am still logged in. -
On my blog/profile:
1) 0 Comments on https://vivaldi.net/de/blogs/dashboard, but click on https://vivaldi.net/de/blogs/dashboard/comments i see the import comments.
2) I can't edit~~/delete~~ Comments from my import Blog (myopera).
edit: i can delete comments from dashbord list, but not edit⦠-
After importing all my posts from my.opera (thanks!), I try to figure out how someone who doesn't have access to my personal dashboard will be able to find more than 5 of them.
My blog listing (<β this is a link...) shows no more than 5 posts. The page simply ends in some white space; there's no page footer.
Seems to be a bug, right?
Edit: The problem seems to be in this particular blog post here - scroll down and you will not see any comments or footer.

There is a problem with a missing link in email confirmation mails from Facebook. This is how it should look (Found it on Google)
and this is how it looks in Vivaldi Mail:
The clickable link is missing, and since Facebook doesn't ask for the code it is pretty much useless.
(The link is visible as non-clickable text when forwarding the message, but one could as well read mail with a Telnet client) -
There is a bug regarding acceptable passwords. I tried it three times and it didn't work like it should.
I'm using complex passwords with 16 digits. When I tried to change my password vivaldi.net accepted the new password but afterwards never would let me login again. The password I tried to use has 16 digits, is a alphanumeric combination and contains: ? & : * ] | <
Maybe you should do a check within the password field, to forbid passwords that can't be used with the system.

- Problems with the Profile Permalink
[/ul]
That's a bit non-specific, so I'll state what I just ran into, for specificity's sake. I tried to update my account settings. I haven't the faintest idea what the Profile Permalink is, or what I should put there, or why I would care - Doesn't my profile already have a URL on this site ? Why would I need anything else ? - but I did want to tell the form my web-site's URL and my time-zone. It wouldn't let me, because I hadn't filled in a Profile Permalink - a field I don't understand and about which it offers no help.
It would clearly be better to let me submit the information I am offering than to refuse because I'm still missing something it thinks it needs.
I was actually visiting that form in hopes of finding something that'll let me edit my background image (which shows the middle portion of an image of ARP 273 and ARP 110421). When I originally signed up, the form through which I submitted that let me slide up and down the image to select the portion I wanted. When I submitted the form, however, it appears to have decided to just go with the middle portion it first showed me anyway, ignoring my selection. I can't find where to try again at that β¦
... and, since I can make an educated guess at a familiar name: Hi Debbie

In the last couple of days, i am getting this message at top of my page:
Γ
Warning
JUser: :_load: User 242-bv does not existJUser: :_load: User 242-bv does not exist
Seems rather silly, I have never had any prefix to my username. If the prefix is some serial number, there still is no good reason for this to appear. I have, after all, not made any changes to my account, so it must be a new bug in the software.

Hmm, can't reproduce. Can you explain this issue with more details?

Of course, it should say "Your" rather than "You's" β¦ but when I visit my profile it also says "You's"

When I go to my blog's page,
https://vivaldi.net/blogs/blogger/listings/eddy
I'm told that I haven't supplied a biography yet.
Oddly enough, I am unable to find any UI via which to do so, so that is likely to remain the same for some time to come !Likewise, the "More info" page linked from my home page provides some (rather bare-bones) information, but I'm unable to find UI by which to update or add to it.
There is a certain charm to minimalism, but it would be nice to make it easier for those to whom I've sent friend requests to verify that the request comes from who they think I am.
Note that telling me where to find the UI (assuming it exists) is only a partial fix: I encourage you to make it easier to find, without having to resort to the support forum !

OK, on the "more info" I was just being blind - there's a honking great button to "Edit Profile", albeit in the middle of my profile page instead of in the side-bar, where I expected to find it.
Maybe the biography one was similarly hidden in plain sight. -
I posted a reply to the official bug thread. The beginnings of the reply show up on my front page. At the top is my title for my reply; and it's a link. I followed the link. I was taken to the start of the thread; my post was nowhere in sight.
The display on my front page does indeed have separate buttons to take me to the thread and to my post, so I can find my post directly after all; but I expect the link at the top of that display - on my front page, using my title for my reply to the thread as link text - to take me to my post on the thread, not to the thread-start page.

Oddly enough, I am unable to find any UI via which to do so, (β¦)There is a UI:
[ol]
- Go to your dashboard and click on the cogwheel on the right side of the top dark bar
- or -
hover over the cogwheel and than click on "Edit your settings" (I wonder why that is there too - it seems to be a bit redundant) - or -
just click here to go directly to the right page:
https://vivaldi.net/blogs/dashboard/profile
- or -
- scroll down until you find "Short biography" form field with the "β¦ has supplied a biography yet" placeholder
- type whatever you think is necessary into that field
- scroll up again and click "Save settings"

β¦ yes, it could be a wee bit more visible.

Then again, the "Edit Profile" page (that I reach via that honking big button on my front page) is kinda broken, thanks to the "profile permalink" field. This does not explain what it is, what it's meant to be, why I would care if I chose a bad value for it, what constraints apply to it, what effects it shall have, whether I shall ever be able to change it hereafter. It only insists that I supply one, as a prerequisite of being able to supply any other information about myself.
I can make a guess, given that it's called "profile permalink" that it wants to be the URL at which folk shall always be able to find my profile. That guess, however, leads inexorably to the conclusion that there is already such a URL, namely the existing URL of my profile page on this site. Given that, I can't seen any possible need for me to set it, or even any sense in my being able to set it - the regularity of http://vivaldi.net/profile/username is a compelling reason to limit my creative input to choosing a username, which I already did. So the only meaning I can think of for "profile permalink" leads to the conclusion that you shouldn't need me to supply one; but the form absolutely insists that I do so.
I can understand insisting that I supply my password when submitting changes to my profile, but I can see no possible benefit to insisting I supply a value for "profile permalink" - then again, maybe the need for this vital piece of information would be obvious did I but know what it means, what it's for or, indeed, anything about it other than that it's required.
Given that it's a permalink, I'm inclined to guess that, once I've set it, I won't be able to change it. So I'm disinclined to just do the obvious thing and type "ajhapkjghajkhah" into the box to satisfy the form's incomprehensible demand.
Amusingly, the form marks this "profile permalink" input box as in error, when not filled in, but does not mark the password box as such, despite also labelling that with an asterisk to say I must supply it.

I cannot access my mail at vivaldi.net since yesterday. It says "Login failed".
I use the same login and password.
Please, help.
Thanks.
