the send button was blocked? I thought the email just didn't send. Anyway, as far as I know socket errors don't necessarily have to cause issues, as Vivaldi will just try to reestablish the connection. If that doesn't work out, or if the connection keeps interrupting, then you have a problem.

So if one profile works but the other one doesn't, it seems like something is broken in that other profile. I'd just move things to the working profile.

@WildEnte no no. The whole time its been - you could click the send button but it did nothing. If you drag that email to be send into a new window and then click send, it would sent immediately.

Well - moving to the working profile is a bit difficult - at least for a while - as I still need access to a lot of my past history but after that .. it does look like that would need to be the way if I want to successfully block ads.

I too can't send an email from the compose window. There is no send arrow at all in the compose window. Instructions say:

 click on send Send on the message toolbar above the message composer

This arrow does not exist. Send arrow in left pane is "all accounts". Clicking on this says "no messages to send".

Normal reply to received emails works fine. Problem is only in compose pane.
Vivaldi on linux is latest from vivaldi repo..

If there is a solution given in the other 3 pages of messages please point me to it.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see when composing a message. For example this is what I see, send is highlighted:

I can tell you right now, I have no bar above the line with the "from" input line. My window looks like yours minus the toolbar command strip.

Perhaps I am missing something from a view setting.

If you have not customised any toolbars in Vivaldi or resetting them will not be an issue then consider doing the following:

press Ctrl+F12 to access Settings
select Appearance and, then under Toolbar Customization, Reset All Toolbars

Hopefully this will restore the missing compose toolbar.

Unless I have View --> Horizontal Main Menu activated, I do not get the bar in compose email that provides the send arrow icon.

FYI this is happening to me too, and I did report this as a bug.
I have replicated this, as well,.. by toggling between "TO/REPLY" email fields, and the body / message... it can facilitate in the disablement of SEND.

"Compose new"
and
"reply/reply ALL" "quickly", without toggling between body and email fields, can send!

Did you back on page 2 about what I discovered with the adblock?

After going round and round - I had to remove certain extension and now I use Adblock and uBlock and I have had no further problems.
