Some end of the week fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3554.3
-
The Timer Name is now shown, regardless of the setting.
-
[Panels][Tab Notifications] Dynamic updates not applied in web panels (VB-112353)
Good job,thanks!
-
The problem with videos not playing inside Quora returned
-
@nutcracker please, a public (without login) URL to test.
-
@Pesala Reported bug as:
VB-112536 Status Bar Clock Always Displays Timer Name
-
@Pesala Confirmed.

@nutcracker
I can play the first video in 7.1.3554.3 (snapshot) by set the block-level "Block Trackers". But can't play in 7.0.3495.26 (Stable) even set to "No Blocking" . -
@nutcracker Those are just YouTube embeds.
Plays fine in this Snapshot and in 7.0 Stable clean profiles.Seems to be caused by this list, as testing from a clean profile and enabling this list shows:
Nothing Vivaldi can fix. You need to disable the blocker on the site.
-
@aaron:I cannot play anything even with no blocking (ads & trackers)
PS The problem was there from the beginning. And then - I cannot remember the release - it was solved. It has re-appeared with this version. -
@nutcracker First video does not play in any browser, tested on win 11.
//EDIT: If i do not allow cookies in the page's cookie notification popup, i do not get any video to play.
-
@doctorg: Thank you! Cookies is the problem (and a related extension I have installed). I white-listed the site and now everything went back to normal. Since the problem is solved I don't care to investigate further about why all videos were playing before, although the cookies extension was in effect some years ago. Thanks again!

Very pity.
Tested on web.skype.com, dynamic notifications can only be successfully updated in the tab, and there is no response in the web panel.
@Ruarí Ødegaard -
A little too much CPU usage since latest update…

@funkytoad said in Some end of the week fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3554.3:
If I click a link in an email with the mouse wheel, Vivaldi crashes instantly. Win 11.
Are you sure you're using this current snapshot? As @DoctorG says, it should be fixed now:
[Crash][Mail] Opening an image from a mail message crashes Vivaldi (VB-112248)
This has fixed it for me. I was cursing and shouting last week since I automatically use middle-click to open newsfeeds all the time - I was crashing Vivaldi every couple of minutes!
-
I'll have to verify later when I'm home. Mouse wheel works ok on the computer I'm on today. So that might be the case.

@Ruarí Ødegaardand i cant tick "detect page title notifications" on panel setting to make it work.

I discovered today that I can't copy a calendar event in this snapshot (CTRL-C and context menu option both don't work).
Apparently CTRL-V paste does work - I was wondering why I got a strange event title at a certain time, then realised these were bits of a piece of text I'd copied earlier in an unrelated document.
I used stable Vivaldi on another laptop to do the calendar work (I needed to copy/paste a load of shift times for days in January - really didn't want to enter each one by hand!), so it is a problem with the snapshot.
Don't remember seeing it mentioned, so I'll file a bug report if someone confirms.

@mossman
Hi, I can confirm, Ctrl+C and context menu doesn't copy but I cant with my internal build Vivaldi 7.1.3557.6.
So no bug report needed, this is already fixed.Cheers, mib
