Tab crash on Google Search
-
This just started happening about a day or so ago.
Using 7.0.3495.18 (Stable channel) (arm64) for MacOS
Basically any time I try to perform a Google Search the current tab crashes. Using other search engines work fine. Also performing the search in Private Browser works.
I've tried removing/disabling extensions and this behavior continues to persist. Not sure if this is a bug or a problem with my profile.

I am having the exact same problem as well.

@jimklo In "Settings/Search" what are your entries for google under "URL" and "Suggest URL"?
Are you using the search field in Address Bar or on Start Page or... ?

I'm using the address bar for search, which is configured for Google:
URL:
{google:baseURL}search?q=%s&{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:prefetchSource}{google:sourceId}{google:contextualSearchVersion}ie={inputEncoding}
Suggest URL:
https://www.google.com/complete/search?client=chrome&q=%s
For the "Search X" input field on the toolbar, that is set to default to Bing (which doesn't have a problem). However if I switch it to Google - the result briefly displays and then the tab crashes. Just like the address bar. I don't use the Start Page (default page is blank screen); but I'm pretty sure it would yield the same problem.
Just navigating to google and performing a search seems to do the same thing. I suspect it's something Google did on their site that's causing the crash, but it would be nice to see if there were more data as to what was causing the crash so it could be reported. DevTools doesn't capture anything. Also noticing that switching Workspaces seems to also resolve the problem.

OK. That is Vivaldi's "default" setting, so it's not caused by a manually input "mistake".

That is just weird
Could it be trying to switch to an already open tab in that workspace?Anyway, try the standard troubleshooting steps
