New look, new feature – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3483.4
-
Will this changes be on stable-branch anytime soon?
-
@doctacosa: Many years ago, when Firefox set the floating tabs everybody hated it. Now, almost all browsers offers that option

I understand you perfectly. It has always been difficult to change misconceptions and come to your senses, but it is never too late.
I am fine with my 0-rounded tabs
@Doctacosa said in New look, new feature – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3483.4:
I wonder why so many designers work hard to make tabs not look like tabs. It's like everyone wants to be different in some way!
I predict circle tabs in the future!
-
@saduran: Eventually, maybe. We don’t offer any guarantees about future features and changes, and definitely don’t make any promises about specific dates or releases.

Never hated Firefox floating tabs, they were and still nice. I hated previous australis tabs.
And now Vivaldi copies Firefox floating tabs. I don't mind floating. I don't like rounded

@masterleo29: You can use any local HTML file for now.

V menu is not aligned, that should be fixed, not sure or this is it?
New skin works but this phantom clicking
Hi, the menu issue was reported here already, they work on it.
What is phantom clicking? -
@daniel With the panel toggle off, it's also an issue with all the panel buttons. Left-clicking to the left of them at the edge of the screen doesn't do anything. Still works fine in compact mode.
Same thing with the right-most extension icon on the address bar. In compact mode, clicking the right edge of the screen triggers clicking the extension's button in compact mode. Not so in regular mode.
Same thing with the back button on the address bar.

The new feed folders are kinda dangerous:
Didn't find a way to remove a feed from a folder.
First folder creation was also a challenge...
Dragging a feed to the parent folder makes the feed entry disappear from the panel. The restoring process made duplicates from feeds already in folder. Don't know if it is finished since I can only see the following:
But many unread badges are appearing...

Why 6.10 and not 7.0?
I think it will be 7 when it reaches RC
-
I appreciate your work and that some (many [most maybe?]) people will love the new UI, but please never deprecate the Compact setting. I don't hate the new UI but much prefer a compact UI.
Bookmark items are now even further spaced apart than before necessitating much more scrolling. I yearn for the ability to decrease the spacing like Olde Opera and even Vivaldi before the changes that made hacking the menu possible.
-
@mib2berlin: Mouse click is on the edge but it works at the same time, hard to explain this stupidity. Chrome has this and Firefox was the first with this.
-
@g_bartsch I suspect severals will stay with compact actually

I want to try it right now, but I also want to wait for the stable version. -

@Pardus
Hi, on Linux the snapshot is independent of the stable, it create a folder vivaldi-snapshot in .config.
I have 3 versions installed on Linux and some more on Windows for testing.Cheers, mib

Yes, circle tabs, that should actually work, with favicon on it, title of web page on mouseover or tooltip.
Dashboard should be part of speed dial home page someday.
That's that, and i'm not waiting for Vivaldi 10.
I will draw that tomorrow.

Love the new icon set, but am used to compact mode. Get used to using the BluePrint theme. The dashboard will take some time to experience.
hope:- Keep the optional compact mode
- SpeedDial can be selected by default on the start page instead of forcing the dashboard
