New look, new feature – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3483.4
-
@sjudenim
Hi, I use notes, calendar and some web pages and the settings never change.
I bet an extension does this, uBlock Origin blocks images in the Vivaldi mail client, for example.
They can really do everything in a browser. -
@nomadic
HAL doesn't make mistakes, only human does, they lie and cheat.
I guess I stop this off topic now, even it is one of the best movies ever. -
I have a „currently active Theme“ with the now old Icons and a „Vivaldi Symbol Set „Vivaldi“. with the new ones. In —> Settings —> Themes.
Where are the old Icons saved, not in my exported Theme, I assume? After a clean Install, are these (old) Icons still somewhere around?
-
@Thot
Hi, the old themes are now on https://themes.vivaldi.net/users/teamvivaldi
The icons are in exported themes but import is broken.
I updated the bug report Yesterday.
Installing from the themes page and older exported themes work.Cheers, mib

Thanks, but what I meant are the (old) Vivaldi-Icons, not custom ones with custom themes.
The import seems to work for me on the Mac, locally. But thanks for updating the bug report.
Found it: Vivaldi 6.7 Default Theme.

@Sijera I can not reproduce on 6.10.3483.4 Windows 11 23H2. When running Vivaldi Mail, the window's address field has the icon to add bookmarks.
-
Pointer with Developertools still broken.
VB-109907 Pointer always stays as arrow - Confirmed. -
I prefer old icons. They are easier to read, they have more contrast. New icons are harder to read on original themes.
edit: Settings window is still opening only on primary monitor. It was claimed many weeks/months that it was fixed.
When User Interface Density is set to compact, hover effect on close, min, max buttons exceeds button size.
Seems that compact layout was made by shrinking titlebar, but shrinking buttons was forgotten.
-
@wildente: It would also be great to be able to change the width of a widget to 2 or 3 columns

Was already reported to Vivaldi bug tracker.

@ian-coog:
..me too.
These are everywhere...even the rounded corners were not necessary. And now, with the "oval" design, it is overdone. At least in Vivaldi have the option to stay with the OG styles.Most of the websites and software are FORCING the user to use the "softened" design (which I will always overwrite, if it is possible). Why they can not give us options to choose, like the Vivaldi browser?
ps.: ...and patiently waiting for the vivaldi:flags/#enable-force-dark issue fix. -
@dmg yes I have reported that as an issue to the bug tracker to have the request logged
-
@t0yz Vivaldi Sync server admin says that issue with certificate is fixed now.
Can you test? Does your security tool warn again related tostream.vivaldi.com
? -
@iAN-CooG I don't mind the slightly larger padding (to my own surprise - I find most modern software has far too much space and was expecting this to be the same)... but I switched back to compact because page tabs just look like random floating buttons instead of... you know... tabs (connected to the document like good old fashioned... err... document tabs).
-
I'm already using the new "Regular" UI density ever since I've discovered it by accident in Vivaldi 6.9. Good job on the refreshed look!
-
-
@DoctorG I think it's fixed. Last warning was almost a day a ago.
Thanks! -

Good

I really liked this new UI change! In addition, I have some advice:
How about changing the Vivaldi menu? It kinda looks odd on it.
Also, it is somewhat difficult to manage extensions; Always have to type "vivaldi:extensions" on the tab bar. -

I use a bookmark for internal links. Is such not a solution for you?
