Happy holidays: Vivaldi browser Beta 2 is here in time for holidays
-
Thanks for another snapshot/beta! Some issues I still have with Vivaldi though:
- Can't reproduce for sure but I often find the first time I do a right click it often is ignored.
- grammatical glitch on german webpage of yours on https://vivaldi.com/firstrun/?lang=de Wrong: "[…] Viel Spaß mit Ihren neuen Browser!" Correct: "[…] Viel Spaß mit Ihrem neuen Browser!"
- Vivaldi is slooooow! (I'm sorry, but it is still very slow compared to other browsers. Although it has gotten better over the last year. I appreciate that.)
- [CTRL]+[F11] should only trigger minimal mode for the actual Vivaldi window, not for all Vivaldi windows.
- Some download-informations are still missing. The information "XX MB of XX MB" we get now could be displayed directly on the progress bar (make it a little higher). In addition to that the download speed and estimatet time for finish of download could be displayed beneath the progress bar.
- on some sites I'm unable to create a search engine (i.e.: https://ixquick.de) (some older Vivaldi versions had no problem with that)
- as a small reminder: please make the tile borders dragable. Often I only need a small part of one page and the most space for another page. Dragable borders would be great!
- I'd like to bind the home button to speed dial. Is that possible? Now I don't use the home button at all. With speed dial attached to it I would use it nonstop.
- Have I already mentioned, that Vivaldi is slow? (Sorry!)
- oh, and have I mentioned that I love Vivaldi? You guys rock!
-
With this version, I can actually use it. The first beta keeps on crashing under Windows 10. Congrats to the Vivaldi Team. The browser is really fast, my main reason for using it. The browser really feels good. Hope the Vivaldi Team will keep up the good work they started.

Thank you very much for search field in title bar. But it doesn't make much sense unless you allow to set default search bar engine to be different than the omnibox search engine, like it was in Opera 12 (search box vs Speed Dial search box).

Hello, I would like to report an issue with this build.
Note, this is a fresh install, no extensions installed, no ad blocker, no popup blocker.
When I login in my YouTube account, I want to click my avatar on the top right and a small popup window will appear that shows a gear icon
when clicked it leads to this page https://www.youtube.com/account
but when I click it, it flashes for a second and closes, the first time I had AdGuard and JavaScript Popup Blocker, when I experienced this, I thought one of the extensions is closing it, so I disabled them and tried again, when the same outcome was reproduced, I uninstalled Vivaldi and deleted all my Vivaldi data on the PC and did a clean install, I tried again without making any changes and it still doesn't work.
Thank you!

Mmh, in the comments to snapshot 1.0.334.24 there was a post that seems somehow related to yours.
[…] There is a bug! In youtube website I don't change my profile. When I click the popup for choose more accounts disappears immediately. Look there: imgur.com/bNo1Juw. […]
I can't contribute anything usefull to this, but maybe it can help someone to figure out what the problem is.

Merry Christmas from Canada's west coast. I moved over from Opera 12 & slowly moving away from Chromium. Linux Mint user. Thanks for the great alternative with Vivaldi.

As you say, with the trends these days being for (over)simplification you are a breath of fresh air. Thankyou for the work so far, can't wait to see a genuine successor to Opera12 hit release!

Hi, nice improvements. If possible please work on:
Back to previous and forward to last page button on Thinkpads for back is the "rewind/fast forward" button, in all other browsers it is just a back/forward last page button. Seems more useful than this.
Seems like the longer the browser is open, the more RAM it hogs. Don't know if this is something that can be improved upon.

- Still no mail.
- ChromeCast extension still doesn't work.
- Still, if you click "disable single-key shortcuts" you can't press Enter in the address bar or search bar to actually go to a website (yes, it's probably "expected" that that happens, but it's hardly obvious that it's going to break your browser completely).
I still can't use it in preference to just loading Chrome, which is really sad given that I still use Opera 12.14 constantly on a daily basis.

Thanks for your reply. I'll see if I can backup my configuration in order to reinstall it, or I'll wait for the definitive fix.
