Snapshot 1.0.303.32 - Beta Candidate
-
There should be a way now too, but it would involve fiddling with the CSS of the UI, which will be overwritten at each snapshot install…
-
This page is a bad example
The page itself is built to adapt to the screen width and throws out everything that is not necessary for reading the main content as soon as the screen width becomes to narrow.
Test:
Just close the panel and make the window narrow enough and you'll see the same effect (You can verify it with another browser too if you make the window narrow enough) -
Thanks again for the snapshot! Love it!
There's a UI bug that happes sometimes: When I switch to another tab using the Ctrl-Tab shortcut, sometimes the preview (the visual tab changer, or whatever that is in english) sticks on the screen, as if I still had Ctrl pressed. It only goes away after clicking on the page or using Ctrl-Tab again. That seems to happen while loading heavy pages like 9gag, and never after the page is loaded completely.
And some feature requests, if I may:
- I'd like to be able to close the settings dialog by pressing the Escape key. Seems to be more appropriate than Ctrl-F4
- Could we get back the possibility to close tabs by Shift-Clicking on them? That came very handy in some situation.
- And finally: Minimizing tabs by clicking on them! Might be just old habits, but that was a very nice way to quickly switch back and forth between two tabs.
Thanks for your great work!

Keyboard shortcuts work for me on my LMDE Cinnamon and Siduction Xfce machines (<- yes, those are both Linux) and on my Win machines. Some online friends reported that they work on Mac too.
I can't confirm the minute or two 4*100% either, despite I am opening about 30-50 tabs from the last session on each start.
For me it sounds as if either your install went terribly wrong or if something is fundamentally broken in your OS.BTW:
I wish that only dozens of bugs were open - the developers probably too - but on the other hand: They have already fixed incredible thousands of really important bugs in the meantime with their little team - most bugs died unnoticed by the public, just look at the VB numbers in the changelog to get an impression about how many - and they have already laid the foundation for Mail and other stuff. -
[Windows 10, Vivaldi 1.0.303.32 (32bit)]
Tiny bug I found: I have two Vivaldi windows open. When adding marked text as a notice it is added twice. I was curious and opened a third Vivaldi window. When adding a notice from marked text it is added three times now. -
Confirmed and bugged with credits as VB-10232
-
It isn't translated, but it works for me.

NPAPI flash is being deprecated by Chromium, so it is not activated. PPAPI flash works.
-
restarted browser seemed to make it better but after some time it does it again. ( windows 10 )

Need to clean your profile, then (unless you're on Mac? Saw some feedback today that looks like some internal chrome pages are not working on Mac.
-
Same here, it's been happening since some snapshots (a dozen back, maybe).
Windows 10 x64, Vivaldi x64.
-
I have a feature request: An option to squish the horizontal menu or Vivaldi button, and the minimize/maximize/close buttons down on the same line as the address field and navigation buttons. I don't need a super wide address field, and I don't need the window title, but I do want those pixels of vertical real estate.
-
Yeah, I've noted that too, but eventually.
-
Yeah, same here, almost always. Sometimes the pages load by themselves, sometimes you have to do it manually.
W10 x64, Latest Vivaldi x64.

And what about «back to the previous page» by backspace? It stops working after 1.0.300.5 snapshot on Windows and Linux too. And hypertext selection is something. Sometimes I actually can't select the right peace. I don't uderstand how people use it in Chromium-based browsers.

@jon:
I remember having loads of discussions with the team about doing things the same way as other browsers, but finally other browsers did the same as us.
I know that you guys have different opinions on this and they are all valid.
This is why I loved OLD opera and Current Vivaldi…the attitude PLUS resolutions!
Thanks Jon and Team!

I felt so sad when real Opera died. And when I heard about Vivaldi, I was overjoyed for this reason.
-
Great progress. However, until I can control what goes onto the Speed Dial, the number of rows/columns and the size of the thumbnails, there is no chance I will be switching over from Opera 12.

I'm not sure whether this has been reported before, but a (very) quick search didn't come up with anything, so here it goes:
Whenever I close full-screen (both from e.g. a video and just F11), the tab bar is empty, with only the plus button visible. Creating a new tab or switching to a different tab (with ctrl-tab) brings back all the tabs.
