Snapshot 1.0.303.32 - Beta Candidate

AFAIK (not 100% sure atm) this was switched off because it prevented dragging the whole window in the free area of the tab bar …

You need to install the PPAPI version of the Flashplayer. On https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer click on "I need it for another browser" (roughly translated to English, you'll find it in the left column). Click there and on the next page select your OS and the Flash version that says PPAPI

Couple of build ago I got wrong page suggestion. For web pages I never visited. When I type "g" for google.com the suggestion is go.com which I never visited, and this preference doesn't change after visiting google.com. This is pretty annoying. Win64.
GJ anyway -
I've just copied the get adobe link above and "paste and go"ed it in another tab. Works for me in Win. Linux only bug?

Thanks.

1. Tab animations are still not working. Enabled or disabled, they're still not working since 2 snapshots ago. Anyone else experience this?
2. In order to install this from the last snapshot, I had to uninstall Vivaldi and install the new snapshot. It told me it couldn't install the update in the registry or something like that. (64-bit Windows 10 on 64-bit Vivaldi)
3. When is the 64-bit going to not be "experimental"?
4. Can tab thumbnails be stored for frozen tabs?
5. How come we can't add a website to our Speed Dial and have that thumbnail have a logo like the rest of the Speed Dial? The reason I haven't added anything to the Speed Dial is because it'll look ugly.
6. Why are you guys so damn awesome?!? That's a bug you gotta fix right now!
-
Right clicking word and searching still opens duplicate search tabs in all windows.
And I still have issues with forum post forms - where arrows/backspace will sometimes go back, causing all text to be lost. I've lost count of how many times I've lost my post because of this. I have started to write forum posts in Notepad

Thanks for the hard work guys!

Welcome! Thanks for your support!
Cheers,

Great to hear you are happy! We will continue to work on speed and fixing bugs until we have 1.0 out of the door and then we will do more of the same and more!
Cheers,

Good, good. Let the Beta flow through you!
-
Yes, the way we do it at Vivaldi is the way that we always did it at Opera. I remember having loads of discussions with the team about doing things the same way as other browsers, but finally other browsers did the same as us.
That does not mean that we will not provide an option in the future. We aim to make Vivaldi work just the way you want it to work and I know that you guys have different opinions on this and they are all valid.
-
Guys, thanks for your efforts on reaching beta stage.
Any chance we see zoom with ctrl+wheel (as in other major browsers) soon? -
Hey Ruarí and all Vivaldians,
your pace and output is simply stunning, great!
But please, please don't overdo it and forget to take some rest in between. :!:
Btw, yesterday I've made the switch and left FF to remain my backup browser.

Yes, this annoying bug really needs a quick fix especially if we're about to go Beta.
-
I think you should fix these bugs before Beta:
1. Hard disk usage is too high.
2. The thumbnails of the saved bookmarks have the page's display format and not the speed dial thumbnails' squared format, and don't fill the thumbnails' squared format, leaving an empty edge at the bottom.
3. The translate for Brazillian portuguese is working, but the choice box indicates "German" ("Alemão" in Portuguese) and not "Portuguese (Brazil)", even though the portuguese is the language in use. The same happens with all languages with parenthesis on their names.
-
Great work! Any chance you can squeeze some performance improvements to mouse gestures, especially in speed dial page, before beta launch?
-
Great, update on Sunday!
Many thanks for that!
As requested here are the things from me:Open Bugs:
Major:- Tab history is limited to the last 6 websites after a restart of Vivaldi
- No horizontal scrollbar in website when Bookmarks or Notes Panel is opened on the right side and content is invisible
Minor:
Ctrl-f, Find in Page:-
toggle Ctrl-f does not close the search
-
it overlaps the scroll bar on right side, the up arrow is not usable
-
Bookmark bar, no thumbnails in folders
-
Notes, if you start Vivaldi with the Notes window the active note is empty
-
Typed history, toggle off works not if you click on Panel headlines (like Bookmark or Notes)
Open Bug Report:

Key: VB-9137Feature request:

- add sort within stacked tabs
- history for Find in Page

Bookmarks: - add bookmarks manager into Tools menu
- open bookmarks in new tab (new point in settings)

This is a nice Snapshot – thank you!
I think the the two-fer caret browsing issue has been fixed. In the first use of the orange caret highlight on a page, pressing Alt-Enter to open a link in a new Tab used to open two Tabs: one Tab was the intended URL, the second was the last/previous page. At least for now, "It stopped doing that."
There are still no right-click menus for the vivaldi.net web pages when Tabs are on the bottom, just thumbnails.
The missing right-click menus can be fudged/worked around:
Put the focus on a 'normal' web page Tab or one of the many internal pages like SpeedDial, vivaldi://memory-redirect, vivaldi://about, about:blank, and so on and so forth.
The right-clicks on a vivaldi.net Tab or Tab Stack will have working right-click menus. There also seems to be a hidden about:blank Tab. I have four tabs open and the 'memory-redirect list shows an about:blank Tab that isn't displayed or accessible. I'll restart Vivaldi and see if it goes away.
Edit: The invisible about:blank Tab went away after a restart.
