Snapshot 1.0.291.18 - A focus on bugfixing
-
That is SOOO weird. Amazon is not even a search engine choice here.
-
This wasn't an issue before, but with this update I can't use search with "Enter" button in address field. Win10, 64-bit
-
the tab-stack-issue: confirmed
I can't confirm the problem with the bookmark folder, because nothing happens at all when I click on 'New Folder' and I've no folders for a while now, so there seems to be a regression, because I could do this a few Snapshots before. Maybe it has something to do with the fact, that I deleted all folders. -
Love you, guys! Since today I started using Vivaldi as my main browser, a special day indeed…
-
By right-click on a bookmark and a click in the context-menu 'new folder' the dialogue at the bottom pops up - it says it needs an URL for the folder !?!? Something's weird - but I don't want to lose my bookmarks … again ....
-
Creating the Folder on the Speed-Dial works, renaming it after that is no problem.
Sorry, I read this too late:
Add new bookmarks or bookmark folders with the icons in the bookmark menu does not work anymore Please solve it!
-
Some bugs:
- Some videos on twitter still don't work (ie: https://twitter.com/WhiteHouse/status/649715734277435392)
- For me, after the update, amazon has been selected as the default search engine. Bing isn't in the list of available search engines.
- The button to restore all shortcuts to default doesn't work.
- Pressing the del key doesn't remove a finished download from the download list
-
Do you plan add docking for Developer tools? It is last feature which I need before start using Vivaldi at my work.
-
Same for me (but only on one of my PCs).
When I start typing in Address field, I have bookmarks&history suggestions, but I don't see a line "Search Bing …", that's why "enter" does nothing
Working on my Win8.1 x64, not working on Win10 x64 -
This is just temporary and will be fixed in upcoming builds. Same goes for many of the UI elements which get focus styling now.
-
and for me too
Win10x64 Vx64
-
The Video runs with the alternate-ffmpeg lib shipped with chromium. To replace this lib is currently working only for linux. It's a licence issue which vivaldi has at the moment, no bug.
-
Agreed. I was happy to pay for Opera back in the day to remove ads; and I'd be happy to donate monthly to Vivaldi if it would help reduce over-dependence on ad revenue streams.
A requirement of donating should be that you have no additional entitlement to complain about things just because you support their work financially. Just believe in the company, support them for the common good and trust that they will do the right thing under the right leadership.

I added Tab Hibernate, and, The Great Suspender; It was rumoured that Google may
introduce such features as standard, is this the case in Vivaldi?
Two features (need), from Opera 12. … Form Filling & to set Cache Level.
Have used Startpage for few years now, and it has proved to be Faultless. -
confirm. but i use 32 bit version Vialdi on Windows 7 64 bit
-
Address bar is not reacting to Enter/Return with any entered string that wasn't in typed history. [Linux x64]
-
I go for the Bing selection, in order to both monetize searches done by Vivaldi users through Bing and, also maybe, come to the get involved MS ecosystem as an "MS supported browser", something that would widen Vivaldi's user base. It's a good time now that Edge is unpolished and does not support extensions and IE is way down the hill.
A splinter in my mind though, is that Vivaldi uses Chrome Store extensions… How will Google react regarding this if it is taken away as the default search engine??

I'd like to have an otion to open search results for selected text in a background tab. In most cases I'd continue reading the current page.
-
+1
Also, search-for-selected-text doesn't do anything in this build [Linux x64]Edit: yup, Ryoto's suggestion to set default search engine fixes this too.
-
This was it, thanks!
