Snapshot 1.0.264.3 - Private browsing mode and improved web panels
-
speeddials disappeared after x64 auto-update (stand alone installation)
I know it sounds wired, but after opened the bookmarks and closed them, the speeddials re-appeared)€dit: the webpanel improvements work brilliant
€dit2: speeddial preview still doesn't reload -
I can't reproduce that. Anyone else?
-
Re. the speed dial issue, try restarting Vivaldi?
-
I can confirm this. 1. open bookmarks 2. close vivaldi 3. reopen vivaldi 4. open new tab
-
Are you saying that even Vivaldi will not implement private TABS ???!!! O_o
Please tell me I didn't understad at all

We will look into private tab in the future, but it's much more complex to implement.. So for now we offer private window only
-
Each time I start Vivaldi, the Speed dial page is empty (only the + button is displayed). When I click the + button on top to add a folder, my Speed Dial appears.
The Speed Dial thumbnails aren't working (empty or old thumbnail) either but I was already like this in previous build.

is there a commandline to start in private browsing from the start-up off ?
-
So
- no MDI
- no private tab
- bad bookmarks/history manager
- no .ini files support (and all related stuff)
- file/folders structure is a total mess
… Well, I've to say I really hoped in a different kind of browser
-
We haven't even released one stable version yet. More will come but it takes time. Remember that took 15+ years to get all the features in Opera 12.
-
Keep up the good work!
As for me I will stop using Vivaldi until you fix the search features, I am not interested in masochism, not when I'm browsing the web at least. -
"fix the search features" could you expand that comment a little?
-
Finally private mode! =O Thank you.
-
I welcome smooth scrolling but would it be possible to disable kinetic scrolling? I really dislike it and it happens even with smooth scrolling disabled.
Is there an 'address' for speed dial? I want the home button to send me there.
bug: the ctrl-tab overlay doesn't work when using alternative shortcuts (I use ctrl+[ and ])
bug?: ctrl-q has been removed, needs to be re-added alongside F2. -
noticed the pages I had saved in the web panels were erased from this update dont know if that was to be expected or not but just wanted to mention. Thanks for the update! Keeps getting better every week. Keep up the Great work!

We have removed Ctrl-Q as a shortcut for quick commands. On Linux this is a fairly standard command for quitting an application, so we have remapped it as such. On Windows we have unmapped it so as not to use up unneeded shortcuts (F2 already serves this purpose). In any case you are free to remap this as you see fit.
I have updated the blog to explain this.

VB-8475 Add web panel context menu
This is useful on the page, but it also appears on the Web Panel, which is not so useful unless you want to duplicate a web panel?

Private Tab?

Thanks! I read it but by the time I read the rest of the list I forgot it said that. haha
