Snapshot 1.0.233.3 - Reload bypassing cache shortcuts and a visual clue for Rewind

Yeah, we had a little issue that hit some users of the Win x64 build making it not check for updates. It should be resolved in next build.
-
User scale seems to mess up menus on the Speed Dial. For example set the scale to 90%, then go to the Speed Dial; right-click an empty space (or a Speed Dial tile) and watch the menu - instead of appearing right by the cursor, it appears way off to the right and down.

Can we have an option to always/never show http in url bar? It's just so unpleasant that when trying to select/quickly_delete part URL using mouse, http just puts itself where it should be causing whole URL to shift right. The same goes for trusted https connection.
-
Yes, that thing! Most precisely, MSE & H.264 codecs.
I know it's hard to work on those (didn't know about the fees you listed above, though), and I know Vivaldi developers can't give a straight answer to when it's coming for reasons that have been explained before.
That's why I'm asking instead for vague answers on how the implementation of those are going. It's not really gonna answer what I'm asking, but at least I can take my mind out of that issue with a reply.

Typing URL in Quick Commands now works without doubling the scheme http:// !! Thanks dev teams

Will Vivaldi ever open quicker than Photoshop? Vivaldi is a neat browser, but when it opens in more than 35 seconds there's a huge problem.
-
Awesome!
-
I was wondering if you could produce a paid version of Vivaldi for this very purpose? The user would have a choice of the paid version if s/he wants these "expensive" features enabled . . . . Perhaps it would be too much work to build an infrastructure to manage the two versions or to handle the payments?
-
How many tabs are open and how many extensions are installed? Each tab is a separate process. Here, Vivaldi opens in about seven seconds.
-
Fix the address bar, bring back the drop down url menu in address bar and an option to disable url auto complete in the address bar. drop down button is a very important feature and all my friends miss it.
-
The Ctrl+F1 Keyboard Cheat Sheet is a great idea. One thing that would make it even better with very little effort would be to default the focus on the Filter Commands text box, so the user can type some filter text without having to touch the mouse.
-
We certainly will look into this, but speed improvements aren't part of an alpha phase.
-
Personally I'd be happy with just the standard keyboard shortcut Alt+Down toggling the drop-down if the focus is on the address bar. I can imagine for predominantly mouse users having the drop-down button would be useful too but I don't see it as essential.
Also, I can't remember quite what I used the drop down for when on an existing page… shortcuts to recently typed URLs maybe? Unless Vivaldi team can think of something useful to appear there, perhaps I don't need it after all!

I tended to use RMB+Wheel as the mouse equivalent of Ctrl+Tab, so it felt completely normal to me to use tab cycling order. If I'm in full screen or Ctrl+F11 mode then even more so.
Now RMB+Wheel work in usage order BUT(!) not as Ctrl+Tab. When I twice press Ctrl+Tab - I will be on the same page. But for RMB+Wheel I will be on pre-previous used page.
But anyway - thank you very very much -
It is also breaking things for me: I am using Alt-1 … Alt-4 to switch virtual screens (both true for Windows and Linux btw.). When I arrive at the Vivaldi screen, I release the number, then the Alt key. But alas, when I move the mouse at the same time as flipping screens - and this is a 80% case - Vivaldi thinks I was performing a mouse gesture. In most of the cases, the current tab is just closed
Please make the Alt-Key optional (I'd set it to "off" on my "moused" devices). Thanks! -
One thing I noticed with the 233.3 (don't know if this happend before) is that when you press crtl + F the search bar pops up but overlays the upper scrollbar arrow so it ain't accessable anymore (not that I really need it but I think that this could be a bit annoying while using laptops/netbooks without a real mouse) this happens in window and maximized mode.

Yes, releasing the RMB+Wheel on a tab should place that tab at the top of the recently used tab order, just as releasing Ctrl+Tab does (when that mode is enabled in settings). It doesn't do that yet.

This is the saddest thing I read here since the beginning of Vivaldi…:(
I was hoping there'd be improvements on Speed at least before the beta, but seeing this, my hopes and dreams shattered !
Well... It's as you say... Speed Improvements shouldn't be part of an alpha phase...

Vivaldi crashes if I want to display server certificate details.
I just reported this issue as a bug. Does anybody know how I can track the issue? Is there any open issue overview? -
Known issue, reported a few weeks ago as VB-7241.
Vivaldi bug tracker is closed, so you can't track it. However, staff have hinted that this is a high priority item for them.
