Snapshot 1.0.209.3 More visual improvements and better mouse support
-
1 - bug: theme color
Appearance/Interface Color - Light
Start Page/Interface Color - DarkGo to Bookmarks in SD and u see a dark grey background that d't let u see clearly the page. History page is Light and normal.
2 - bug: extensions
Adguard AdBlocker does not appear in extensions page. (using it from TP2 and visible)
W7 64bit - V 32bit
-
A few bugs I found (using the AUR version/Arch Linux 64 bit):
- "Search" box in settings window doesn't work (clicking doesn't focus it, typing doesn't do anything)
- Unable to edit the name ("description") of the search engines that come default.
Keep up the great work by the way, you guys rock! Super excited about Vivaldi!

"Search" box in settings window doesn't work (clicking doesn't focus it, typing doesn't do anything)
Already fixed internally.
-
Bug for confirmation:
When a new tab is opened (ctrl+t) and you write really fast something you search for (in the address field which is focused) you just lost a few first letters (they appear, then they disappear and you continue where it lefts without letters which disappeared)It could be because of my custom *gif background which takes a while to load (up to 1sec) and address bar could get "reloaded" and all these letters before the 1sec get lost.
-
You shouldn't work on a default theme, you ought to use the native interface for the window!
-
same here. Windows 7 64bit
-
Works fine on mine. (OSX and Windows 7 x64|Vivaldi x64). Try removing your BG then and see what happens.
-
Confirmed on win8.1 x86
-
Bug: keyboard shortcuts of special ALT characters interfere with browser shortcuts. For example ALT + 064 which produces @ character. When pressing ALT + 064 on textarea, focus will be changed to address bar and after releasing 4 url will be replaced with @.
Win8.1, Vivaldi: 1.0.209.3 -
many thanks Vivaldi team. what you are doing is really amazing.
one small suggestion: the find in page bar can only be dismissed by closing it with the mouse. Esc to close would feel very natural -
If we are talking about tabs tight to the top of the screen so they are easy to pick quickly by sliding the mouse along the top edge of the screen, then I think there are users on all platforms who want that.
-
As always, great build! I like the way Vivaldi is heading, but still no improvements on CPU usage. When I start Vivaldi, my fans go up like crazy. And first two places on CPU usage under activity monitor are vivaldi.app and vivaldi helper.
So still can't use this on my MBP as my main browser.
Another thing is extensions. We need them ASAP. I know about chrome extensions, but what I personally need is GUI for those extensions. Some are useless if there is no GUI button.
I know, this is just a TP. But this is why I am putting out my main concerns, so they make it into some future build asap. Other then that, I really love Vivaldi. Especially now with the dark theme

Hmm…my comment got deleted while editing it lol. I'll post this again.
Found another bug
BUG#3: After opening Vivaldi and opening a new tab then closing it. the first tab (or rather the previous tab) is just showing a blank page with nothing on it rather than the Speed Dial or a webpage.
Can anyone confirm this?
-Windows 7 x64 | Vivaldi x64
-
vivaldi://extensions redirects to vivaldi://chrome/extensions and the extensions page is empty. I think they're still installed but just not visible.
Windows 7 Pro x64 | Vivaldi x64
-
yep, see the known issues above.
-
Same on Windows 7 x64, Vivaldi x64.
I have to move the UI slider to greater than 150%, then slide it back down carefully to get the UI to decrease to 95% instead of jumping to 90%.
-
For example when I'm using Vivaldi Wallpaper, it takes 2-3 seconds to open a new tab, but when I use default (provided with Vivaldi) background image, Vivaldi opens new tab within a second or so. (Win 8.1 X64) https://vivaldi.com/press/highres/wallpapers/Wallpaper_Red_Icon_Gradient.png

Ditto, Win7 x64, Vivaldi x64
-
Keep up the good job
Since you're tuning the UI, maybe in next update you could include bookmark icons (inside folders) as well? -
Me too. Win7 x64, Vivaldi x64
