Snapshot 1.0.178.2 with more settings
-
Last version of Vivaldi, that works properly, is 1.0.167.2. The new version is quite a disaster. Setting - does not work, only "general" pops up. But this problem is only in czech language - in english it works properly. When I open my browser, I have to maximalize and hide the show pannel every time - also in english version. I have to say - you are getting worse! (I use win7 64bit, Vivaldi 32bit)
-
i can confirm it too.

regression:
I have changed paste & go from "ctrl+shift+v" to "ctrl+v" a few builds ago (no problems till now).
why? I used to press "ctrl+v" an "enter" (I have never managed to use 3 keys shortcuts… it's a lot of fingers in use at the same time...) but pressing 2 keys is simply nicer and clearer.
and I think that you already know why I'm not happy with this build... I have to rebind it because of that in every textarea where I want to paste something it also redirect me to the page/search.
I'm not sure why "paste and go" should work in textareas/forms...and since you are comparing everything with Opera: in Opera even a address field do not allow "ctrl+shift+v". It just paste without the "go". You just have to stay out of any forms/active fields/textareas...
And I know that you have changed this so it's not likely to be changed back but I think you need to know this point of view.
-
it's a snapshot. You just have to wait for a stable version. Till that just live with these bugs and report them in peace
(as many others have already done so it's every 2nd post here pointing to that issue) -
and that has broken my custom bind "ctrl+v" for paste and go
(because now I just can't paste with ctrl+v in forms/textareas and two different key binds are needed for "paste", and "paste and go" which will kill me) -
Trying to import data on my Linux machines crashes Vivaldi immediately.
-
Thanks for the new version. Something I noticed in the installer.
In the installer for x64 when opening the advanced view I got a greyed out box for "install per user" while I have it installed for all users. Installation path (program files) was picked up correctly.

wandoschneider: I am totally calm. I use Vivaldi since the first version and I am a fan of these guys - otherwise I would not use Vivaldi in the first place. But why release an update if it has more bugs than previous versions? I thought everyone can write their opinions here, not only positive comments.
-
Why not use just ALT+V or CTRL+G if you like to have a two key shortcut, w/o having to use a standard shortcut for something else?
I use CTRL+SHIFT+V assigned to a mouse button systemwide and I don't want to have a command that does one function in Vivaldi and another somewhere else.

Once again, thanks for the build. Here are some issues that I experienced from this build (some come from the first TP3 build):
-Issue with Youtube comments, only being able to reply;
-Issue with Google Plus connection, impossible to receive notifications on Youtube page;
-Disqus doesn't log in with Facebook;
-Disqus doesn't stay logged in between sessions, requiring the user to log in every time you input a comment;
-Impossible to log onto FB in third party sites for commenting;
-Able to log onto FB via third party sites through the "Reply" button, but impossible to comment, attempts result in error messages;Those are the experiences I've had on Vivaldi. Which is weird, because those were working just fine until TP3 came out. In other words, there's some change made regarding social networks that prevents Vivaldi from working correctly with them.
Then I have some browser issues:
-Speed Dial with blank thumbnails;
-If the number of thumbnails exceeds a certain amount and a scroll bar is generated, Middle Click doesn't work on SD;
-Vivaldi will sometimes vanish and leave a ghost, being necessary opening the Windows Task Manager to end the process and actually close the program;
-Vivaldi's Ghost issue doesn't seem to happen due to computer's performance, as it has never happened when the browser tried using more RAM memory than my PC has;And finally, my wishlist:
-Apply, Cancel and Default buttons to the Settings window;
-Better interface for the Vivaldi Task Manager (like coloring each row differently for better view, and color coding for tabs that surpass a certain amount of RAM/CPU usage to be determined by the user);
-Possibility to change the SD background image, if possible for each individual folder;
-MSE & H.264 for proper HTML5 support (we've been through that, I know it's gonna be hard to implement, but I like playing the annoying guy);
-Images centered when enlarged as opposed to shoved to the left corner when opened on their own tabs;
-Expand stacked tabs;
-Option to have stacked tabs generate new tabs on the same group;
-Customizable options to the bookmarks bar (such as font size, how many items are displayed before the following items get hidden, if hidden items are allowed or not, second and third rows available);
-Have and option to allow each tab to show how much RAM and/or CPU they're consuming;
-Downloads page (like the old O12 had);
-Customize how search (Ctrl+F) works (if the box will be left on top, center, bottom, right or left corners, if the page will darken when searching, highlight colors, etc. )Once again, thanks for the new build. Vivaldi builds are the only thing that make me look forwards to Mondays! Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see how the Beta will be like. We're still on Tech Preview and Vivaldi is almost ready to be set as default! It works as a normal browser for me, and it's true there are some bugs and issues, but overall I'm using it more than my Opera 12 now - and that is saying something, since I've been having it as default ever since it's launch, and even after downloading Chrome or Opera 15+, I promptly came back to the old Presto engine. Vivaldi is doing great for me!
Edit: forgot to mention, I'm using the latest build of Vivaldi 64x, on a Windows 7 64x, Intel i3 3.0 GHz CPU and 4GB RAM Memory. Every build installed have been updates, so I have a lots of user data. Some of the issues above have been confirmed to vanish once you delete the user data, but I do not wish to do so. Please look onto it.

it's all about that I "used to use"…
of course that I can rebind it. And in the future they will implement some feature starting with G and guess what will be the shortcut
ctrl+g... and I will have to rebind again and again... so that was why I have changed ctrl+shift+v to ctrl+v (for paste and go) since it worked nicely

Bugs!
1. Half window, have to maximize the window everytime i start the browser!
2. In settings only the general tab works the rest i can't accesswin7 64bit
Vivaldi 32bit -
The "Settings" window is still broken for some language (Fr, Ru…). Known issue. If needed use "English".
-
Confirmed! :shock:
-
Confirmed!
-
Can you also add the startup option to "Delay loading of background tabs", like Opera?
-
Thx for new build, but still under Linux I have the problem of the very large controls. Probably it has to do with my native resolution: 1920x1200 (24 inches display), I am using proprietary NVIDIA driver and KDE 5 (was the same with KDE 4). I also tried a clean install, same problem. Interesting thing: with the Technical Preview I have no issues.
Here once again a screenshot: http://snag.gy/xDJQ6.jpg
Hope you can do something about that, otherwise I can't use the weekly builds on my linux desktop
And 2nd thing: I can't change tabs in settings dialog (german locale)
-
It has problem when you select Turkish too.
-
Start with Home Page or Speed Dial fails to remember that the browser was maximised on close.
Start from last time remembers, but won't accept a page from the command line in Opera, open current tab in Vivaldi. Vivaldi opens, but without the tab.
-
Thank_you for the new build! It's running nicely and seems a little quicker than v1.0.174.8 x64 but that could be my fascination with something new, shiny and … SQUIRREL!
Old bug: The "vivaldi://settings" page still redirects to "vivaldi://settingspage" and it
can't be scrolled. It MIGHT be a hardware problem and not software so that'll be tacked on to the end just in case.I can't find it now but once upon a time I checked a box to open the Settings in a separate window instead of a tab. That's still working fine and it got carried over from the old Vivaldi x86 installation on Windows XP Pro x86.
New x64 system setup:
Browser and OS: Vivaldi x64 with Windows 7 Pro sp1 x64
CPU: P4 630 Prescott 3.00GHZ Socket 775 LGA
Board: Intel D955XBK Extreme Edition, 3GB DDR2 RAM
Video: AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3
