Snapshot 1.0.167.2. Better keyboard-shortcut editing and user statistics

Then why should I email them if it's doing nothing? Because someone on a forum said so? Panda reports back so they'll get it from me. Or didn't you know that? You really should say no more because you're making yourself look worse and worse with every post. I'm just letting you know. But hey, keep at it, I need the laughs.

Is there size limit for bookmark bar because alot of my bookmarks in bookmark folder appear greyed out now randomly, so it can't be clicked
-
Configuring shortcut "." for search in page now works! cool! thx!
-
"Silent" being "not mentioned on this blog", not going the Opium way here guys…
-
Where is the unique user ID stored in Linux versions? I hope this is a temporary feature which will be removed after this build.
-
You can use vivaldi://chrome/settings/fonts for now.
-
Ayespy is trying to point out that you're barking up the wrong tree.
Think about it the following way: Some cars attract police officers because they are typically driven by younger drivers. If you get stopped by the police now, would you notify the manufacturer of your car? -
We had this issue before caused by updating Vivaldi, but we thought we had it fixed. I'll have somebody have another look at it. Thanks.
-
One ID per install. It's just a random number that has nothing to do with you in person. Its only purpose is to prevent counting users multiple times and to see if people are using Vivaldi on a regular basis. It won't be used to identify you or link any data to you as a person or to any account in any way.
-
Davesnothere is right here.
TPs are kind of the "stable" channel right now and Snapshots are "beta/dev". They won't influence each other. -
In addition to what Ayespy said, you can rest assured, Vivaldi won't ditch any features because of low usage. Quite the opposite. It's made to fit everybody and that includes minorities, too.
-
I'd like to get a keyboard shortcut for fast-forward, preferably separate from any other function.
Is there somewhere I can edit the fast-forward rules? There seem to be very few sites where fast-forward works at the moment. Compared to old Opera where pretty much every site could be fast forwarded.

bug: 16+ rows of speed dials leads to the text overlapping at bottom
bug: when you "use as speed dial" on bookmark folders from bottom to top, the speed dials folders names don't change
bug:- when removing speed dial folders that was added with "use as speed dial" from left to right in the speed dial tab, the speed dials folders name don't change
bug: favicon doesn't appear in folders in bookmark bar
bug: couldn't use middle mouse button to open bookmarks at bookmark bar inside bookmark folders
bug: Inconsistency. In settings you use control-shift-v for "paste and go" for keyboard shortcuts, If you right click the url there control-shift-v listed as paste as plain text
bug: can not add new folders to bookmark from the bookmark panel via right click context menu. No pop up appear. Right click a bookmark on the bookmark panel and select "New Folder"
bug: speed dial tab need to remember last speed dial folder it was using
bug:- Middle mouse button stop working on bookmarks if you have more than 5 bookmark folder expanded in panel. I simply closed some bookmark folders and middle mouse started working again
new bug:- I got a bookmark bar folder with lots of subfolders and bookmarks and most of them are randomly greyed out and unclickable -
About keyboard shortcuts (but it's extensible to a lot of other contexts as toolbars, menu, etc): you should provide an easy way to backup a configuration, and let users to have more configurations easily switchable
Having a single, monolithic configuration file (that contains a lot of garbage for what I can see, useless for the user for sure) is a great problem. You should come back to a more reasonable use of several config files (.INI , .JSON … use what you want) for each aspect of the browser... A folder "keyboard" containing all users config files is surely a better choice to me
Please take in consideration these small tips and make Vivaldi the real Opera successor

Indeed. Kubuntu 15.04 x32 WM Openbox

This is not a temp feature, we do want statistics in the future. Please remember this is not for "personal" statistics, we do want to know how many users we have. Then we want to split it up to more specific details like f.ex how many of them are in Denmark, or how many uses Windows vs mac. It's highlevel statistics
Also if you do not want to be counted you can currently disable it in settings/Privacy/Do not track
Though it will possibly get it's own setting later on.
Obviously we prefer users not disabling as we do want to know how many users we have, but … we are all about the options -
I deleted user data too, and edited common.css again rather than just overwriting it with my previous edited version to get tabs to the top of the screen.
Now launching OK and running with only four processes.

Thanks for the reply Olli. Users can draw their own conclusions by reading this document and studying the contents of file Local State under the heading "rappor" .
After doing some testing I confirm that a new ID is created every time Vivaldi is started. I can see no privacy issues there.
-
Hi, i always have "do not track" enabled.
But u can see my info in the bug reports i send. One more thing, speed dial thumbs always get blank if i clear browsing data. Can V team do something to prevent sd thumbs to be deleted by this way.
thanks for the nice work, keep up.

First Vivaldi experience. Installed TP3 a few days ago and now this snapshot. Looks pretty cool!!
List of things I miss most is short and (so it seems to me) easy:
1. Keyboard shortcut for "Go to Homepage"
2. Presto-Opera's "Click on Tab to minimize" – great for toggling between 2 pages
Looking forward to more awesomeness to come!
